What tricks does your dog know? What are the tricks that your doggie(s) know? I would love to know the different talents that our babies hold!!! Please share! Hannah |
Sully knows: - sit - shake - lay down - play dead ("dead dog") - roll over - beg - beg, paws up high - dance - twirl (on back legs only) - walk - crawl like a g.i. joe - spin around in circles (on all 4's) Yes, we are VERY proud of our Sully! Here's a site that I think has some good advice: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/P.../indexorg.html ...and another pretty helpful trick-teaching advice site: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/L...44/TRICKS.HTML |
Wow!!! Sully could join the circus!!! Pretty impressive. |
Tucker knows..... - roll over - paw - high five - jump in the air and spin - dance - go to your spot - circles (on back legs) - and of course his agility! :D BTW- Val i can't believe how talented Sully is! |

Baby knows: -Sit pretty -Sit -Lay down -Roll Over -Speak -Shake -Crawl I guess she doesn't know a lot, but she knows them all on hand commands...which I think is special...man she could just sit there and do nothing and I would think she was special..so biased opinion here. |

Bentley is just learning but he knows sit and down right now. We are working on these: Back Mind your Manners - not to beg for food, or to stay off company Kissies Stay - this is going to take forever Come - he knows it more or less just doesn't always listen Give it and Bring it here - when we are playing fetch Future commands: Silent commands Potty on Command Toys by name Go get Daddy, Go get bubby, Go get Mamma, Get the kitty Heel and basic leash commands Eventually we may work on real tricks such as play dead and roll over, but thats a ways away at this point! |
Oh oh I just taught Reagan how to sneeze. We're still a little shakey but she's coming along great. I'm a little excited about this one if you can't tell. Other than that she only knows the typical ones I guess.. sit, stay, down, shake, turn around, stand, speak, leave it, she won't roll over to save her life but we're still trying, she goes potty on command (as well as not on command occasionally but that's almost gone now) She also knows my husbands name, and both the cats name, she doesn't know my name though and she doesn't know her different toys she just knows that they are all "toys". She also knows how to make me mad at times. Oh and she knows bring it and drop/give it, only to her it doesn't mean drop it or give it to me, it means pull really hard so I don't get it and bring it means lie down at least 6 feet away and only bring it back when I quit telling her to "bring it". She's coming along great. |
Frankie can lay down now! |
I'm with eensor on this one ;) Hallie knows: stare at me and pee when she's mad chew cardboard to shreds look at me with those big eyes and get whatever she wants Bark all the time even for no reason How to successfully steal the covers in bed Simon knows: How to get mom to drop everything and play ball How to get a treat for being cute How to sleep and take up the entire bed How to jump the baby gate and try to get out the door They both know the basics (sit, stay, lay down, etc.) but lately they have both seemed to regress a little, most likely my fault so we are restarting the training process! And I'm going to buy a taller baby gate. |
KIM! this is hilarious that Simon can jump the baby gate...Maggie can too! The other day my cousin and I went to the mall for like 2 hours. We get back and Maggie is greeting us at the door. We figure she knocked the babygate down...but still, that is hard to do because we put this huge shelf infront of it so she doesn't. ANYWAY, we get in the apartment and the gate and shelf are exactly how we left them! she either climbed the babygate and jumped after that or completely cleared it on the 6 inches she had where the shelf wasn't. It was ridiuclous and i was baffled! |
Yes, Simon learned that little trick from Wyatt (the rescue kitty we had a few weeks ago)! He doesn't do it all the time but enough for me! I wonder if he and Maggie discussed it yesterday when they were talking to each other? hmmmmm.....wonder what else he might of taught her? hehe |
Reagan is an escape artist too. She jumps as high as she can then climbs over the rest, my husband watched her do it. We put a piece of card board on the top and she hasn't done it since. We took a retangular piece about the length of the door opening/babygate and about 8 or so inches wide and bent it in the middle long ways. Then we just sit it on top of the baby gate. I don't know if when she's looking up at it (since it hangs over a bit) she figures she can't get over it or if maybe it kinda scares her so she isn't even going to attempt it but she hasn't made it out. I'm guessing that she tried because if she hit it it would fall down. If try this and they do jump and knock the cardboard off you could attach it with tape or maybe a nail or something. Just thought you guys might find our tip handy. |
Magic knows how to: sit, stay, come, dance, stand up, lay, roll over, answer when you ask if she is pretty, beg, be cute, do nothing, drive you crazy playing ball, give you kisses just when you need them.... Sailor knows how to: sit, stay, come(when she wants), stand up, get free treats for being cute, hunt down frogs or crickets, bark REALLY loud, and be the sweet thing in the world... |
lexi knows sit give me paw down bang bang wanna treat outside grandma karen(my cousin) no go potty on comand nite , nite get your toy get your bone no biting quiet give me kisses wheres your leash |
Lilly is in the process of learning so right now she knows: Sit shake- aka sitting on her back legs and giving me both paws lol) go to bed stay go potty- aka sitting on her pad and stare at mommy like she is crazy. and of course, eat your food which she is very good at |
Well, I have to day that when we were puppy school, I didn't think that I was going to be able to teach him any tricks at all. His obedience was fantastic, and he was the top of his class. Maybe I was trying to teach him too much at once... I don't know. But since we finished school, my boyfriend and I have managed to teach him a few cute tricks. This is everything he knows.... -sit -stay -come -down -wait -give -go pee outside -crawl -shake a paw -dance -high five -high ten -bang, bang your dead -play piano (with a toddlers piano) -get the dirty rotten kitty (shakes a stuffed cat) |
One is pawpaws!!! |

As for Eddie, he's now training ME. I was teaching him "wait," which means sit-stay until I call him. Well, he discovered that he gets a treat EVERY TIME he does that. So now when we go to the park and I want to KEEP WALKING, he sits-stays and waits for me to call him. Like a fool, I do and give him a treat. At least he doesn't make me wear a prong collar. |

The only trick my tucker knows is the command to sit. i don't even know if you could call that a trick hahaha, but it only took my sister and I 10 minutes and a bunch of purina puppy chow for him to get it. He's almost 5 months, and hopefully very soon we can teach him the trick of not biting mommies viga spiga heels. |
