Thor is a natural army crawler. He likes nothing better than to pull himself down the length of my area rugs. Then he gets to the end, he turns around and heads right back, crawling all the way. It's pretty hilarious. I haven't put it on cue, though. |

Wow! Love Jonah!! I can't imagine Chloe ever doing that. Sometimes she will body block the ball to stop it rolling before it gets too far, but she never picks it up while it is even moving, let alone flying through the air! -C |

Harley knows many many tricks and general commands. I think one of the most unique is "Praise Jesus".... this is when she's on her hind legs and pumps her front paws up in the air. LOL. I'll say, "lift em' high so He can see you" and she'll stretch them as far up as she can. It's the cutest things ever. One of my other favorites is "Do the Hop"...she goes up on two legs and will literally hop all the way around the living room until I say "Chill." :D |

Chase the geese Love this thread! We have a pond - and with a pond comes geese and then goose poop. What a nuisance!! So, whenever we see geese hanging around, we grab Bailey, lift her up so that she can see the geese - then put her down and watch 'er go. She runs just as fast as she can, banks the pond dam like the Daytona 500- then chases and barks at the geese until they fly away! |
if your having issues training your puppy or getting them to pay attention try using German commands it works great because its not something they hear daily |
Sandy already know 'Where is (his toy name)?' He'll bring the toy to us. I recently bought him a new Kong. I'll take out his tricks and asking him, 'Bring me the Kong...' He'll go and bring the Kong, waiting for me to fill it with his tricks. :D It's so cute when he does his tricks. Recently he started to scratch our legs when we're watching the telly. When we ask him, 'What is it, Sandy?' He'll go and bring his toy, drop it in front of us. We know he wants to play. We didn't teach him that though *lol* |
Mabel has an uncanny ability to PEE on absolutely every flat surface in my home! Amazing. Oh, i guess thats not very unique or uncommon...almost every yorkie on here can do that one! Never mind! But my mom had a pekinese who when you said "where's your wee wee ?"he would flip over on his back and show you! He would stay that way until you said "good wee wee!" |

When Addie and I were in puppy training we were told to teach our puppies a trick to show the class in a week. I taught Addie to jump in her car booster seat, turn toward the front and sit when I said "Let's go for a ride". On game day, she did it perfectly! :) |
The Yorkie does no trick. She has us trained. She walks and sits in front of you, and either sneezes which means pick me up and put me on the couch. She barks, which means I am hungry. Finally, she will spin around a few times which means I would like a treat. If only she would do something to let us know before she decides to pee on the Wool Rug. |

Haven't worked with a Yorkie, but Bungee used to bare her teeth with either the verbal "Vampire teeth" or two fingers pointing down like fangs. She had a verbal and a visual signal for most of her stunts. She also had one chair in the living room that was HERS. If anyone said "I'm going to get in your chair," no matter where she was, she would race into the living room and take a flying leap into her chair. |
I have a few tricks they do. I tell them to go in their beds when we eat dinner. They wait until were done to come out and play again. Then they get a dog treat. Kalena spins around in a circle really fast when I tell her to spin around. It's hilarious. She is in full coat and her hair just flys in a circle. She looks like one of those human hair commercials. LOL She gets her treat. BooBoo wags his tail when we tell him too. As he had a tail down issue in the show ring. Shannahlee waves byee byee and gives a smiley face. Chelli gives high five. Dania stands up on her back legs and shakes her hips like a hullah dancer.;) |
Monkey will sneeze on command. He knows it makes me laugh so he will sneeze if I am not paying attention. Madeleine bows in response when you speak to her. That happened on its own. When we first got her she was so completely afraid of everyone and everything so getting her to come to you was impossible (I slept on ceramic tile many nights because I couldn't get her so we could all go to bed she was that scared!). I didn't realize it but during this time when I was trying to speak softly to her I was hunching down my head down and when I was done talking I would raise it back up right. One day out of the blue, after I was done talking she lowered her head and then raised it up making a bowing motion. It became our way of communicating until she finally let go of all of her fears. Of course we still have our conversations and she silently sits completely still while I ramble on and on about this and that. But whenever I pause and make eye contact with her she bows in response. She has been such a quiet little blessing to me! |

Glad someone resurrected this thread! Those of you who have more than one dog... do you isolate a dog while you train? Or do you train with more than one dog in the room? If so, how do you avoid giving treats to all dogs even tho only one is working? Or can you train more than one at a time? |
