This is one of several very common issues that owners experience with pups that were placed too young, like yours. Not biting is one of the socialization skills that pups learn between 8-12 weeks with the mom and litter mates.

You have been given some good suggestions in regards to how to help him break the habit. And like others have mentioned, consitancy is the key.

On a positive note, hopefully others will be able to learn from the issues you are having as a result of the pup being placed too young and can use them to their advantage in making a more educated decision when acquiring a new pup of their own.

Socialization among mom and littermates is extremely important.
They learn so much in that time!

Here's what I read. Don't give a command. As the other poster said the dog won't understand. However, yell "OUCH!" quickly. My understanding is that dogs, when playing, give each other signals when they've had enough, and a yelp from you should do it. Once I yelped and then faked crying and you should have seen the look on my dog's face. He really seemed concerned that he hurt me.
