Ripping up the Training Pads Hi everyone, I have a yorkie that just turned one today. During the day when I'm at work I have him set up in part of my room with the guard rails up so he won't get out. Brunio has his bed food, water and toys. But now I realize he is ripping up the training pads. I thought it was becasue if I ran late from work and he was upset. Now I see that he is doing it even if he's out he still goes and rips it up. Please help I don't know what to do!!!!! |
well i think most of us have been there...lol...what i found to have help me was switch the pee pads from the normal ones to the disposable quilted ones...you can get the quilted ones from Walgreen or Big Lots...they sell them in a 50pk for $10. Some members also switch to the washable ones...me myself have tried those...and i personally do not like to do extra loads of laundry so i ended up tossing them out...hehe |
We all have been there :) Washable pads may be a solution or a puppy pad holder to hold the pad in place.... |

Oh, and you need to use the 23x24 size in the pad holders. I find the fir perfect. I also buy irregulars sometimes from eBay or a couple other people here: Pee Pads For Cheap - Great For Puppy Potty Training http://www.newpuppypads.com And the only place (haven't found a better deal)I buy cloth pads from I get here: Used Waterproof Pads I buy them used only and I even get stained ones, I don't care..lol.. I do have ones with no stains for in front of the doors because I cannot have rugs or they get peed on. Thank you :) I think they are cute too. I'm sorry you could not find the material information on my site. It is there in various places including the pee pad page itself. They are topped with 100% cotton fabrics, I have over 150 fabrics currently to choose from, and they have inner absorbent cotton layers and a leakproof backing. I use one pad for three yorkies every day. I have only hardwood floors and tile in my home and there is never any leakage. They are $19.99 but with the YT discount of 20% come to $16 for YT'ers. thank you for your responces, becasue I'm tired of having to vacum and clean up those dame pads. I'm going to try the dispoable quilted ones. |

My problem with the washable pads were the pee never really dried, so when I was at work and they were left home all day, their feet and my floor had pee prints all over the place. So that is why I am use the potty patch (dog turf) ontop of the throw away pee pee pads now, this way their paws stay dry and my floors are pee free :cool: |
