Note that I had to physically walk to the other side of the room (which was okay) but important to mention. Also as a Warning... pay attention to where all pets are at the time you use it. I noticed that my kitty who was across the room, also was 'notified' that no more barking was permitted. |

But if you look at the ratings on this item it is almost split down the middle. I looked on other review sites about it besides amazon. So some dogs it works some it doesn't.. Last night Pennie started barking at 2 am wanting something from one of the other dogs. She does this A LOT.. I told her quiet, she ignores me. so I pointed it at her said quiet and clicked the button, she stopped for a few seconds, I praised her..then she did it again, and we did the whole thing over again about 3 times before she finally shut up..LOL.. she is cute but this bossy voice of hers is going to stop! especially at 2 am... cute little brat;) |

Same with the clicker training system, there's nothing magic about it, but if you can train a person to use it properly, it can be a wonderful aid in trick training. |

But yes you are right, it is indeed a training aid. I was just in the living room trying to get mine to stop. This time everyone quit barking (even my cocker..shrug) but Mindy I had to do it about 4 times before it worked. I guess sometimes we do just want that magic to happen;) |

OK, we've had it a week now and I've had to use it about 4 times. I think this is AMAZING! He stops barking immediately when I use it, and seems relaxed, instead of agitated like he does with coins in the can. We went on a walk today, and walked by a child, this normally sets Joey off. There was no barking. I was a little amazed, but then we went by a house with 3 dogs in the yard staring at Joey, and he didn't bark, I was shocked, he normally barks his head off, even if they don't bark. Then we went by several more houses with dogs that were all barking, Joey didn't bark back at any of them. You cannot understand how shocking this is for me. I didn't take the Bark Repeller on the walk, it's like he remembers the training from last week. I did praise him for not barking today. This thing is the greatest product ever, you have to be careful not to overuse it, and allow them to bark at certain things for a short time, but it seems like it has reduced his unwanted barking by 100% so far. I'm just so amazed. Thank you so much for telling me about this! |
I have been following this thread all week. I am going to try this product. My two go ballistic over doorbells on the tv or other dogs on tv and anyone coming to the door. I don't mind them barking to let us know someone is at the door but they get out of control. My only problem is my DH he likes to get them barking and does stuff to get it escalated. I may have to get a bark collar for him and use it on him when he gets them going and use the bark repel for them:D I am constantly telling him not to urge them to bark for no reason. |

hmmm, interesting thread. I just tell my dogs, all 4 of them (toy poodle, yorkie mix, sheltie and beagle) a sharp NO, when they are barking more than I like and they stop. The only time they will continue for more than a few minutes and I have say NO more than once is when someone new enters the house and when the Amish go by the house with thier very loud horse and buggies, it drives them nuts. I have never had to use anything else. I guess I must be lucky :)... I would consider using one of those devices though if I had too, defintily a better alternative to a shock collar. I will let my neighbor know, they keep one on their outside dog all the time..:(.. |
Wow! I just went over to amazon and bought mine. I have been wondering what I could do to stop mine from barking. Once, we had a dalmation that didn't EVER bark until she was fully grown. We didn't know she COULD bark until then. My DH and I looked at each other in amazement. Now, with two yorkies, the barking gets out of hand quickly. We live in the forest with squirrels, birds, and such, and they bark almost non-stop. Zaccheus is usually the instigator. I hope this will help tame the noise. I'll let you all know when I get it and test it out. |
well i just ordered this so let's hope it works!!! :) |
