I think we've bumped into each other in the breeding and show thread! But thank you for your support and I guess I have to repeat it several times that I don't do it LOL...kinda comical at this point :)

I think we have, too. I've read many of your posts but I just couldn't remember if we had actually 'spoken.' :) You are more than welcome! My opinion from reading your posts, and from seeing the respect you have from other members, is that you are a wonderful breeder. The whole thing is a little funny this morning :p, but yesterday....not so much. :rolleyes:

We have a Maltese who barked,barked and barked. We could NEVER enjoy a meal at the table because she barked like crazy. We tried several things recommended. Did I think for a second about debarking? I thought about and I would NEVER do it. The last thing we tried and it worked the first day.
We got a bark collar. It had static zaps not strong trust me. It zapped once. After that I took the battery out. So she stopped barking when we sat down.
She never wore the collar again and has never had an issue besides the normal barking when the doorbell rings, or a person comes in.
I actually tried the collar myself. I wanted to see exactly what it was. Its like getting touched by someone who has static electricity.
I dont know how bad the barking would actually be to debark all your dogs??
I couldnt do it and even if its under anesthesia, just the thought cutting their cords :(

I totally understand where everyone is coming from because I don't do it either but I do know some breeders do and their dogs are fine...and besides only one side of the vocal cord is done so the bark can be softer. I know I wouldn't do it but I dont' hold it against anyone that does that's all I'm saying...

She doesn't sound like a reputable breeder to me. Maybe just one that's trying to make more money with her bark free babies. That's just sick.

:thumbup: I've spoken to Donna via YT and I find her to be a very very nice perons. I have to agree, she seems like a wonderful breeder:)

Why do some have no problem having yorkies with docked tails but are against debarking? They say a dog that is debarked does not feel pain after a few days, I would think it would be the same as docking.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but debarking the old way, the cords do grow back. I am not sure if the bark is the same or not, but I have been told the vocal cords do indeed regrow.

Now the new way, burning them, I don't know if they will grow back or not..?

I do agree it seems cruel, but in certain situations if all other methods have been exhausted, it might be the better of two evils.

I agree with Jencar98 and livingdustmops as far as the debarking compared to worse things issue.

Actually they do grow back on some. The bark can be the same and most that I know that do do it, do it on one side and not both sides of the vocal cords but let me REMIND EVERYONE I don't debark I just don't hold it against anyone that does, like I don't hold it against anyone that declaws and again I don't do that either!
Trust me there are far worse things that can be done to animals than debarking....

Thanks Abby and really it's ok they are entitled to their opinion and they are passionate about it as I am with certain things :) However, I do answer my disagreements alittle bit better and more politically correct :) But I really do thank you for your kind words :)

Hello but either you are too tired, not reading well or need glasses because she never said she debarks her dogs!

Shame on you that is REALLY uncalled for and rude! She has said a million times she doesn't agree with it and wouldn't do it but knows some GOOD breeders who have done it. Learn to read please, you offend more the none person with your rude comments!
