PetSmart Training tonight! Tonight is Penny's first class. It is about a 25 minute drive, and she usually gets sick in her carrier. I purchased some "East the Quease!" in hopes that will keep her from throwing up tonight. I will report back how it goes. I know I am really the one getting the training, but I think it will really help. We have read sooooo many training books, so we know what to do, but we need some support and accountability I think to make it work. Anyone have any ideas on how to get these drops down Penny? LOL

Penny didn't throw up in the car. We did get the drops down her before we left, but I don't know if that is what worked or not. Penny growled at all the big dogs to make sure they understood that she is MUCH bigger than them. LOL I learned some things that I didn't quite get out of the books because I didn't have a live example and someone to watch me do it and correct me. Now I have a LOT of homework. I am excited.

The clicker for training is a no go The gave us all a clicker for training, but Penny is scared of the sound. I really don't want to have to carry a clicker with me anyway and saying, "good girl" seems to work the same. I am giving up the clicker. So far she will sit on command now and I think she has the "look at me" down too. I can not for the life of me get her to lay down though. They have instructions to sit in the bath room and watch for her to lay down and "click" and treat her as soon as she lays down. They say after about 8 times of her laying down from getting bored and getting a treat for it she should catch on. Hmmm, we shall see.
