| potty training I have two yorkies. One is about 2 years old. She is not potty training, and our house has carpet, constantly my room smells like pee cause she sleeps with me and i dont know if she pees while i sleep or when im out. but every morning i wake up i would find poop and its not a goood thing to wake up too. I take her out once in a while because i am very busy with school. My other yorkie he is about 4 months old. We made him a home made diaper. and we been using that for awhile, but i would like to train him. Im not sure if i should use a training pad because i have carpet, and i know they would bite and tear it up once im gone. I need help or any Suggestions! |

| I'm sorry.. I'm having a difficult time understanding. You have two Yorkies.. they aren't potty trained.. and you take them out once in a while because you are too busy with school? How often are we talking? Once a day? Twice a day? Also, what training methods have you been using? You can't just get a dog and expect that it will know where you want it to potty and when. Potty training takes time... months, sometimes even years. Yorkies are also notoriously hard to train. If you're too busy to devote time to training your dogs then I'd suggest finding them new homes. Otherwise, start by crating them or putting them in a play pen when you aren't home or cannot pay FULL attention to them. By full attention, I mean you need to keep them gated off in the room with you and you need to be able to keep an eye on them. The minute, no SECOND you see them start to sniff and circle (dogs normally do this when they have to potty), pick them up and take them to their potty pad or outside (you will need to pick which method you want to use). Dogs need to go out first thing in the morning, after eating/drinking, after playing, and generally every 2-3 hours otherwise. Mine are adults and we go out every 4 hours. We started off going out every two and staying outside until they went. When they did, we praised and treated! Make a real big deal out of it. That way, they will know they did something right. If they have an accident, unless you catch them in the middle of it, ignore it. They won't know to associate your anger with the accident. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

| My Laci is only a puppy she does very well with piddle pads and has never torn one up YET.. I have carpet and it doesnt seep through either, I do also take her outside but she have had alot of rain and snow and I dont want her outside in that weather and she mostly just sits there and shivers.. I find the pads alot easier with this yucky weather! |

| Ummmm Please tell me you have had your female spayed? Your male fixed soon? This will also help with potty training but more importantly, no un-need pregnancies. My advice: Take them outside, playpen or crate, or at the least, baby gate to one area. Get them fixed. Good luck |
