Forgot how to potty? I have had Jasper since he was a baby and he was pad/litter box trained very well. I have recently taken in another 1 yr old Yorkie, who was trained to go outside. Jasper will NOT pee outside! He acts like it's beneath him or something! With the two of them together, potty chaos has ensued! They both pee and poop anywhere they please! And all the standard laws of potty have gone right out the window. I find messes in their crates (where they sleep every night) and even around the food bowls! I knew it would be a struggle with another dog, but I had no idea it would be this bad! Is it possible to to retrain them to both do the same thing? Preferably to use the pad while we are gone, and got out when we're home. Any tips or advise would be appreciated!

Have Jaspers eating habits changed since getting the new one? You might just need to go back to the basics with both of them. Restrict their area and take up food after 6 at night and take them both out prior to bed.

I haven't seen any changes in eating habits. Due to the number of messes I'm cleaning up, I certain they are both getting enough food. And they play so hard all day, they go through about 5 or 6 bottles of water a day! (Yes, I drink tap water and give the dogs the bottles water!LOL) And I don't think they are "marking", because there's no recurring accident spots. It seems where ever they happen to be at the moment is where they will go. I never considered taking up the food after 6. Should the water be taken away too? I may try this. Thanks!

maybe put a diaper on them?!? (at least if will save your carpet and stuff in the meantime) Coco has accidents at night time...i can't crate her when i'm home at night, cause she whines like a baby..so i put on diapers on her (baby diapers, they are way cheaper then doggie diapers, just cut a slit in them for their tails) i also use baby onesies to hold the diaper in place..i put it on backwards and leave the middle snap undone, so her tail can fit through... I also notice she doesn't like it when her diaper is wet...so she has been having less accidents in her diaper at night time. And this morning she woke up us letting us know she had to pee by whining at our heads.. (first time she ever let us know she had to pee!!) I also take her food and water away at 6pm.

What a creative approach! The concepts make perfect sense too. How long have you been doing this?
