Yorkie Talker | Playpen Area Hello everyone, I am indoor potty training my 3month old yorkie. He is doing pretty good with the occasional misses. I have him in a xpen area with his crate, wizdog, toys etc. I leave his crate open so he can go in and out when he has to use the bathroom because he is still so young. My question is does anyone else line the xpen area with newspaper? I do this so I can see if he has an accident and not to mess up my tile floor. Or if there is anything else that i can line the floor with so that will still be easy to clean up, I do not want to confuse him, but do not want to keep putting paper down if there is something better. |

| Hi. I have a 4 month old Yorkie named Izzie. I also have an x-pen and wood floors. Over the weekend I went to Home depot and bought an 3 x 3 ft piece of plexiglass. I can still see my floor and even is she has the occasional accident it is a snap to clean up. Hope it helps. |

Yorkie Talker | oh sounds like a good idea as well, but when your pup does have an occisonaiy accident does he tend to walk in? I leave my little guy home when I am at work and I do not want him to track it all around the pen. |

| Nope. My little girl goes on the wee pad. The plexiglass is so clear that the occasional misses can be spotted even once they dry. I put her pad towards the backside of the pen and her bed in the front. I did that because when I come around she jumps like a lunatic and would sometimes jump on her poopy or pee and that was just gross. Now she jumps in her bed instead. She used to lay on her pad but not now. I bought her rascal and she kept laying on it like a bed. Luckily she never used it first. Also the plexiglass comes in different thickness and prices. I just got a piece that was mid range in price. Didnt want something that would crack easily. The shower curtain was a great idea . I just thought if you had a scratcher or a baby that liked to chew they would tear the curtain apart. If you shop some smal hardware stores you can find it on the cheap. Good luck !! |

Yorkie Talker | That sounds good I will defitenly go this weekend and price both. He does like to play with the newspaper now so he may try to tear up the shower curtain as well. Thanks again for the tips

| I also use vinyl flooring under my expen. It has been a life saver for my carpet. I tried a vinyl tablecloth first and Daisy scratched a hole in it within the first hour. I like the flooring because it doesn’t wrinkle or bunch up and it’s easy to clean. |
