Joey was around 11 months when he went to Puppy class, I did it for the socialization, but he just was too advanced, so we switched to a tricks training class that I loved. He had to pass a certain test before he was allowed to enter. The problem with puppy training is that large puppies are so clumsy and may hurt your dog without even trying to. Owners don't always keep a very tight hold of them, and of course the puppies themselves haven't had any training yet. So unless you can ask for a class with just small and medium puppies, I would rather go to another class. The adult dogs in the trick training class were very well behaved, and most already new a bunch of tricks, but by graduations, Joey outshined them all, and everyone seemed to get a kick out of seeing him perform. |
