Just wanted to say that reading this thread has been SO helpful!!! I hope Snickers is doing better :) |
I'm sorry I can't be of any help. My Abby still messes in her crate at night. She is 7 months old. I put her in her crate at about midnight each night and then I go to take her out in the morning at about 6:15a only to find that she has already messed in her crate. (Sometimes on her blanket:eek:! I am at a loss with what to do.Her crate is small She is not pee pad trained. I tried that and she just wanted to chew them up. She is outside trained though on rare occasions she messes in the house. I would think she should be able to hold it for 6-7 hours by now. Sometimes I feel she will have to spend all of her life in her crate at night. My other Yorkies used to sleep with me. Can't trust this one st this point. Don't want a mess on my bed.:( |

Abbysmom--Maybe you could wake up in the middle of the night to let Abby out to pee if she is still messing at night?? Also, is her crate in your room? It helps SO much when it is. She will feel much more secure. Snick does sleep with us and we are slowly trying to transition him to the floor, so right now he is in his bed, in our bed. Thank goodness he is so tiny!!;) |
Update Hi all... So Snickers has his good days and bad. Some days he has clean half days and some days he has dirty days. Once in a blue moon he will have a full clean day. Anyway, yesterday my husband brought to my attention that Snick's "area" (a hallway) is pretty depressing. Nothing really to look at and kinda sad. So yesterday I found a baby playpen, made it all cozy and it's on legs so stands about 8 inches off the ground. I put it next to a window and put Snick in with his food last night and he seemed ok. He could see me, that I was home, whined a little but then layed down. I made it SUPER cozy. Well seems like he is ok with it, he was clean today for the morning. I bet looking out the window all day is way better than staring at a boring hallway!! Still doing the kong, rescue remedy, and calm collar. Hopefully this will help, just wanted to post another idea. We are still battling with Sep Anxiety!! |
