marking territory all over house!! I bought a male yorkie when he was about 11 months old. He is now a little over 2 years old and he continues to urinate all over the house. Some days are better than others, but not one day has gone by since I' ve had him, that he hasn't urinated some where. He does this even after using the bathroom outside, so I assume he is "marking his territory". He is not nuetered yet, but at his age, do you think it will help? Is there anything else I can do to get him to stop? My husband is just about ready to get rid of him!! Please help!!

Yes, neutering him CAN still help. Have you thought about belly bands? Here's some previous threads on neutering and belly bands. Good luck! And welcome to YorkieTalk and our Yorkie community! What is your Yorkie's name? We look forward to seeing pictures of him and hearing stories. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=belly+bands http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=belly+bands http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=belly+bands http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=belly+bands

awweeee, dont get rid of him. Belly band will you, they will soak up his pee if he tries to mark, so you have less clean-up.. ill post a pic of what it looks like.. but also, have you tried taking him to a potty training class.. they have them at pets mart.. im having trouble with my yorkie as well. he is 6 months. I am now switching to crate training. I actually just got home from my class, and i asked them if its ever too late to crate train a dog for purposes of potty training... and they said never, because there are plenty of dogs that get adopted that have never been trained and they can be trained... so dont get discouraged, get some books, take classes and be consistant!

I Love Thor Donating Member | My dog just begin doing that marking thing around the house too! It's terrible! I have been told by several people that neutering will help. Hang in there! Good luck! |

After this long, it is hard to say. In some dogs it will stop the marking after the dog is neutered in other case "NO". Would definitely check into belly bands
