I need reassurance Maya had been doing so well, and I so thought she HAD IT completely. Then last night I was on the phone with her Godmother, and right before my eyes she spraddles her little legs and pees on the couch. ON THE COUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Not the floor, the rug, but my good couch!!!!! WHY WHY WHY....she could have asked to go out, and why my couch....we take two steps forward and 3 steps back:mad::(:rolleyes::thumbdown |
Aww keep the good job she will get it eventually I have three and all are potty train, Melody took a little longer but she is now 100% potty train:thumbup: |
Coral is the same way so I feel your frustration. Tonight she peed on the bed AND the couch. How old is Maya? |
Patience is great but so hard to have. Keep up the good work and maybe restrict her to a certain area of your home for a little while? |

Thank you for the kind words...I just so thought she had it and I was past this kind of drama. |

Oh my......about three weeks ago I was changing my bed and Maya was in the room and she peed on my comforter I had on the floor during the changing of the bed. I was furious. Oh she is 7 months. |

Thanks yeah I am back to keeping a close eye on her and she's mostly in the kitchen or the room I am currently in. One thing I can't say for sure was if she tried to signal me before doing what she did because I was distracted by the phone call. I am trying to give her every benefit of the doubt here. |
I have two and it takes a while before they are fully potty trained. Seven months is still very young, and sometimes accidents still happen. Mine were fully trained ( no accidents) by approximately a year. ~Tammy |
Some one was reading my mind when they started this thread. Monday was a bad bad bad potty training day for me and Sophie. I was so frustrated that I finally put her in her crate for about 10 minutes while I cleaned up the last "accident". She was doing so good and it was almost like she wanted to show me she was not all grown up yet. I love my baby but there are times when she just pushes. Tuesday was so much better, we started over with giving her a treat when she went outside. Thank you all for the words of wisdom to the original poster, I hope you all don't mind but I borrowed them. |
Hang in there...it will get better. That's how it was with Biggie....just when we thought he finally got it...he had an accident. Patience is key..hang in there. ;) |
Hon it's o.k. It's the nature of the beast!!!! I too have had where I though Aiden was finally on the road to potty training heaven, and then he pisses on my slippers, while staring me in the face. Take a deep breath and know the day will come. I try asnd remember that my skin kids did the same thing. They regress and have accidents. You're doing the best you can. Give yourself credit for doing the best you can!!!!! You're not alone!!! |

Yeah Actually that is when Mika fully got it. I guess I was being vain and was anxious to rub it in to the daughter that MY yorkie got it a lot sooner than hers did LOL |

"A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. Use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the mess, then take the rolled-up newspaper... and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!" |
Oh MAN I feel your pain:( Izzy had a real issue with peeing on our bed and sofas:mad: She finally grew out of it, thank God! She loved to pee on my bed RIGHT AFTER I washed all the bedding and put it back on there, grrrrrrrrr! |

Don't we forget all that comes with a puppy and get lost in the cute!!!!!! Good luck girl. |
OK I am into my first 3 full days of retirment, and being home with Maya all day has turned the key. She has always let me know when she needs to go out, and if I go out to put out trash or something she runs out and takes advantage of the opportunity. So at night, or when I leave home, she uses the paper and pee pads in her area, and while I am home, she is a good girl, and all is right with the world over here for now. Thanks again YT. Mika comes in a month....then I will need help with integrating these two together. |
There are going to be mistakes ... You can't let your guard down esp when they are still puppies Best not to let her up on the couch unless she's right next to you or on your lap Good rule to live by even if she's well trained |
it took me a whole month to train Prada to the wee pads, she was 8 weeks when I got her, she peed on her bed once and that was it.. now with Chanel was a bit more since when we got her she was already 5 months old, she Peed in my bed once and that was it, never in the couch, because as soon as I saw any sign I would put them on the wee pad fast I had a wee pad hanging from the back pocket of my jeans all day..LOL:D now I have to narrow the number of pads I have on the floor from 3 to 1, That is going to be a challenge. hugs,at 7 months she still young, just look for signs and put her on the Pad even if you have to pick her up on middle pee and put her on the pad.. hugs, cArmen in nj |
so glad maya is doing better!!! sounds like you are really watching her and watching for the "signs" ;) thusday was a rough day here too...bentley and miss buffey both decided to pooh on the floor within an hour of each other  ... and they are 14 and 15 months respectively lol one day they will get it...i just hope that day comes soon :D |
