Hi Fergiesmomma, Sounds to me like she is looking for attention. Have you been really busy lately? Tammy |
My advice is always keep them in a limited space while training. Having the run of the house is too much. Positive reinforcement is all I ever used. I never scolded accidents, just praise, praise, praise, and a food reward when they do it right. I really believe positive reinforcement is the best way. Both my girls are fully trained. They want to do what pleases you! Good luck. |
First of all I want you to pretend you are in a foreign country. You can't speak the language. Someone walks up to you and smacks you. What for? You don't know because you don't understand each other. In order to potty train your dog you have to learn to speak dog. They don't have a voice so they have to rely on their motions. It is up to you to watch carefully to see the signs. They give them each and every time they have to potty. They will keep going back to that same spot if you do not neutralize the smell on that spot. Clean it up. You don't have to yell at them when you do it. They don't know why you are yelling. Keep a constant ...constant eye on them. When you see them starting to potty...say no real sharp and take them out to finish. Give a small treat or tremendous praise and right back inside. When Ahia was a puppy I had her out side every 20 minutes until I found out what her signs to potty were. I guarantee this works. They will soon sit at the door waiting for you to take them out. While potty training my team, I kept all the doors to other rooms closed so I could see them at all times. I have one that is trained for pee pad. She is slowly starting to potty out side now. YEAH! |

Buster is doing the same thing - having accidents everywhere! (MORE) If I look around our rooms, I'll find 6, 7, 8...potty accidents :( I\'ll clean them up with Nature\'s Miracle, but a couple weeks later...more accidents! :( This is the only training thing he isn\'t getting better at...he has stopped biting, generally stopped barking, but the potty accidents continue! :( Advice? |
