I am frustrated beyond frustrated!!!! Ok here I am 7 dogs later...never ever had a problem with crate training...which i still don't think i do...it is Kioko...all Kioko...i mean i take them out to potty pretty often...he doesn't have a problem peeing outside...but it seems like he holds his poop in until he comes back in...and put inside his crate when i am not able to supervise....it is driving me nuts.. and to make matter worse he then steps all over it...lays in it...and whatever else he does...any other would and if they happen to have an accident would do be laying, sitting and/or stepping on away from it...argh!!! no other has ever done this...and if they did they got over it...he is 10 months now and it seems to be getting worse...i am having to spray out and down his kennel everyday how many times a day...i don't know what to do anymore... PLEASE HELP!!! |
Does he poop about the same time every day? Do you go out with him or just let them run and play? |
Did you get him from a pet store? That is a problem with dogs from pet stores because they were kept in crates or cages. Try feeding him in his crate for a couple of days - at least a week. He may come to see the crate as his place for food rewards and dogs don't like to use the bathroom where they each. Good luck! Keep us posted on how it goes :animal-pa :animal-pa |

annabella did that.. I took her food away from her early evening so she did not have to poop in the night.. but I was always around so she did not have to be crated by day...unless I went out and had an x pen for her.. I am sure he will grow out of it.. I did not have that problem once.. but pepsie would poop on the floor and then ask to go outside.. did that for over a year before he got it straight.. I just picked it up like a good mom and he came around.. but cleaning the crate that often would drive any good mom crazy.. hope some one has something good to tell you... anne |

The only dog i ever got at a petstore was a toy poodle an ex bought for me...but that was 10 years ago....and from my experience with her i vow to never purchased from a petstore again... And as far as feeding goes...that is where they all get feed...inside their crate. Until they are potty trained. Thanks. |

I know how frustrating it can be. TJ would poop on the rug under the table if I didn't watch him, when he was tiny. It took lots of patience. Reward him and make a huge deal of it, when he poops outside. Maybe he is one that takes a long time to get the urge to poop. Good luck to you and your baby. |

all he cares about is seeing what MeiLing or Yoshi is doing...they are used to stay in a crate together but i learn to never do that anymore...because if i had to take Yoshi and/or MeiLing to the vet or something....Kioko would cry like he is being killed...i mean it gets old pretty quick... |
Oh you poor thing! My girlfriend got two yorkie puppies WAY TOO YOUNG and tiny (she wouldn't listen to me :p) and her little girl did the same thing- she would take her outside for 30-40 minutes and the second she brought her in, she would poo in either the kennel or x-pen, and then get it all over her. She finally got better about it but I don't think she's completely trained yet. I don't even know what I would do, well, I do know I would be super skinny because I would be throwing up everytime I had to clean out the kennel. I wish I had better advice for you! On the bright side of things, at least it's only ONE of them who's doing it! It could be five out of six ;) What if you took him outside by himself and totally ignored him until he did his business? Then make a huge deal? I really don't have any other ideas. |

I can see where it would. I wish I could tell you something to help you with this baby. It sounds like you are doing everything you can think of. Hopefully he will figure it out. Good luck. |

if yoshi had an accident...i can find him on the other side of the small crate...leaning against the wall of the crate not wanting to get it all over him... but with kioko..he does it by the opening of the crate...sits in it and whatever else he does with it... |

I'm sorry you are going through this with Kioko. I know it must be frustrating. Maybe he just gets so excited to be with the others when he goes outside. What if you keep him in an xpen or larger kennel for a while along with a puppy pad. Would you be against him being puppy pad trained? It's worth a try. No matter how hard you try, Bless his heart, he may be one of those that just likes to have his quiet time and takes longer with the pooping. I hope it gets better. |

and i have bought over 2 dozen washable pads...and don't have any left due because i got tired of the mess he created so i am done with pad training...it is outside they good...no matter what the weather is...i am willing to go outside and stand there in whatever weather condition until they do their business... i mean he knows what he needs to do...they all do...when it is cold, raining (have yet to snow) they would run down the steps pee/poop and right back up they go...because they know i won't even walk towards the door until they are done...they understand me when i say go potty (in vietnamese) what i mean but it...he doesn't have a problem with peeing outside...but we could be out there forever and he still will not poop...i walk them trying to get him stimulated to go..but he doesnt...and i am going INSANE! |

How frustrating! I"m glad you can laugh at it though. It's the best medicine sometimes!:D Have you just taken Kioko out potty without the other dogs? I need to take Alfie out separate from the other dog, bc he would never get his business taken care of! |
