| ![]() My 1.3-year-old Yorkie/Silky used to regularly and happily go potty every time we went for a walk (every 3-5 hours when I'm home) including before bed and when we wake up. The last few days she does not want to go before bed (usually walk around 8:30-10pm), even if the last time we pee'd was 4pm. It's SO frustrating, because the day it started, she woke me up at 2:20am to go out to poo and pee. I can't be doing that on the regular, and I need to get her back on schedule. I'm losing my temper with her because of it. I needed to cool down and count to ten so she might remain alive. I don't know why but her potty habits and her obsession with eating poop on our walks (or her own when she was a puppy) infuriates me more than anything I can possibly imagine - pet-related or otherwise. i just want us to go back to a happy short walk before bed when she quickly pees and we go back inside and snuggle until morning. i guess a lot might have to do with it constantly raining as of late, and all the fireworks people in my neighborhood insist on setting off at all hours of the evening, and the fact that her 'grandma' that she's spent about half her life with just moved away. I guess it's not her fault, but in any case, it's frustrating for me. I don't want to get angry with her, but I also hate walking up and down the street indefinitely in the rain waiting for her to do what she would so easily do a week ago, especially since almost every house in my neighborhood has dogs tied up or chained up outside 24/7 - or at the very least leaves their dogs outside 24/7 - so there's a constant chorus of barking and I've even been harassed by one guy who said I was intentionally antagonizing his dog with mine. In other words, I like our walks as short as possible since even before her potty scheduling issue, it was already a frustrating affair to walk through my neighborhood. Do you guys think this is just a phase? Or do I need to do anything (other than keep my cool) to get us back on schedule? I don't mind getting up for a few minutes in the middle of the night once in a while, but that simply CANNOT become the norm. I'm sure almost all of you would agree. Any ideas? Suggestions? Encouragement? Thanks!

| ![]() Modern Puppies - Indoor Dog Potty - Potty Training A Puppy Fast & Easy will be wonderful for you AND your baby. I strongly recommend this system for you. She will never have to go outside again UNLESS you want her to. Rain or Shine it is developed with owners in mind. (NO I do not get anything from posting this web site url) ![]() |
