How many times does your puppy poop a day?? My dog goes about 3 times a day, now it seems he poops 4 a day..I took him to the vet and he told me to cutt down his food which makes sense but I wish he would go just twice and I be good instead of having to take him out all the time. Is it true when they get older they go only few times a day or?? |

Starsky is 5 1/2 months and he goes twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. Almost like clock work. I only feed him twice a day too. I have another dog, so if I left his food out all day, the other dog would eat it. Starsky has to eat what he can when the bowl is down. Other than that he waits until next feeding time. |

Bo is 8 months old and he poops twice a day also. First thing in the morning and then in the afternoon or early evening. I also only feed him twice a day for the same reason that Starsky's mom stated. I can't leave his food out or my Schnauzer would gobble it up. |

Preslee goes 3 times a day but she also eats 3 times a day. Its pretty easy to get them onto a schedule in my opinion. Just monitor the food intake and you should be able to fall into a routine after some time. |

I'm so jealous! Tucker goes all day long! He goes out at 5 am with my husband and poops. Then he comes in and i feed him breakfast and he poops again. (which makes sense). then he usually goes at least 2 more times during the day. (even though he doesn't eat again) He then goes after he has dinner and 1 or 2 more times before bed. He is a poop factory! It drives me crazy! |
Katie does the smallest and cutest poops I've ever seen - they are smaller than my pinky finger. But she only goes about 1 or 2 times a day MAX. Codie, on the other hand, is a pooping MACHINE! And they are huge and really stink bad! :rolleyes: |
My dog poops about 3-5 times a day at 5months should I be worried? He eats twice a day and he still seems to poop alot of it out..any others having same problem? I took him to the vet they said to only feed him twice but it seems he still poops alot so I dont know |

poop times Bella goes right away in the morning and then in the late afternoon, and again in the evening. It is hard to get her to go poop outside every time though. We go out and she goes right away in the AM. Then after she eats her food maybe a half hour later she will go again. Then once in the evening after dinner. We feed her twice a day too. What is frustrating is when I bring her in from outside and she goes poop right away in the house. At six months she ought to know. I praise her and give her treats when she goes potty outside. I holler at her and take her right outside when she goes in the house. I just can't seem to get her trained. I figured it would be easier for me cause I am home but I think she is rebelling or something on me. I heard if the main ingredient in the food is corn they will poop more often rather then chicken being the main ingredient. |
Bella sounds just like my boy felix, he poops morning, afternoon, evening and late evenings..I take him out first thing in the morning and he usually goes most of the time although sometimes he doesnt..then afternoon he does in the house and I yell at him and take him outside obviously too late then..its like whenever I bring him in he poops but only time he does outside is early morning I give him treats all the time when he does it outside so I don't get it..I wish they would come potty trained! :) |
Gucci poops twice a day. I feed her twice a day also. But i live her water bowl out all dat. SO she pees more often, not excesively, like 3 or 4 times. Depends of how much water she has drink. |
i swear ever since i got three furbabes.. it seems like my boyfriend and i are always picking up poop/cleaning up wee-wee pads lol.. my dogs poo about 6 times a day (each!).. what in the heck!! lol.. Ginger is pregnant so i can't cut down her food.. or put the food away.. and the other two eat from her bowl too so i have to put extra food in the bowl to meet all three's caloric intake needs.. what is a mommy to do!!!!!!!! :p :eek: |
Wookie poops allllll the time.. hes not only a peeing machine, but hes a pooping machine too. he goes once after breakfast, once after dinner, then like twice in the middle of the night.. Is this normal?!!! |
yea! pooping machine is a great word.. or phrase... sometimes i don't even know where all this poop comes from! sometimes they don't even eat after 8pm and they poop 3 times after!! i mean how much poo can their intestines hold for crying out loud!! LOL.. my day sorta goes like this.. wake up at 6am to get ready for work.. i'll either wake up to one of them pooing already.. or if one goes.. it's like a chain reaction.. after the first poop i pick up and place out a new pad.. the 2nd one goes.. and same thing.. and then the third one goes.. then when i leave at 6:50am.. hubby wakes up to find poo at 7:30.. he feeds them.. an hour later more poo.. then they don't eat.. but they drink water.. and poo some more.. lol.. it's like a poo fest.. |

This blows my mind... Bailey poops 4 times a day... I too think thats alot. When he gets up.. lunchtime.... usually about 5-7:00 and then before bed at about 11-12. Isnt that alot,, and He hardly eats.... but his food is down all the time. |
Ok I was just re-reading these posts,,and Im cracking up... Where in the world could people have a conversation like this,,( and we are completely serious and wanna know) that people wouldn't think that we are total whack jobs!! :lol tears |

Bo goes outside to poop twice a day. And then there is Duncan. Three times maybe four. I let Duncan out this morning then he came back in running for his favorite spot. I chased him and put him back outside. Hopefully he will make the connection. Duncan likes the toilet for some reason. He jumped in it yesterday and got his paws wet. Maybe I should potty him. |
When Gus wakes up in the morning he takes him morning dodo.I feed him half of Cesars in the around 9am. He has his dry food out all day in his crate. So he will go through 1/4 cup every day. He will go again around 1pm Then for dinner I Give him boiled chicken or groundbeef before I season it for us. If we have something he can't have I will give him the other half of the other half of Cesars. And he'll go one last time before bed. He's been an the same schedule the day I came home with him. Thank goodness it's outside and not in anymore!!! |
Funny you should mention that, yesterday Dennis went outside and did his business then came in and did another.... then another and just one more! All of this inside two hours! He only weighs 1.7 pounds at 16 weeks and this is the fist time that he has done this, so I expect he just ate to much. Usually it is just twice a day. Sue |
twice Merlot is a twice a day pooper! Sometimes 3 times, but that's not the norm. It's a good thing too, because I work about an hour from home and his dog walker only comes once per day. I don't know what I would do if he was a poop machine!! :animal37 |
