Welcome to YT. I know exactly how your wife feels as I have one who is the exact same way with me. These guys seem to alway pick their own alpha. My other girls sticks close with my husband. Thank goodness for that anyway because it's difficult enough with one under foot. ;)

I feel your "pain"... or glory, however you look at it...

Both of mine(and the other two breeds) are on my heels at all times. I have to be very careful when I sit down so I dont have a yorkie pancake... LOL

Mine wont eat for anyone else, wont even go outside, they stand by the door and look at the family like they are crazy... haha

My husband takes our little girl for walks. She's a momma's girl for sure, curls up with me when I get home from work. But my husband plays with her (throws her little frisbee in the back yard) and walks her. She loves both these activities, so she now accepts him as her leader as well.

Play with the puppy. A puppy under foot while cooking can get a small burn by even food dropping. I still even If I am laying on the sofa play with Mya for at least 2 hours a day. Throwing the ball for her, playing hide the stuffed animal, laying on the floor and playing tag... you could also take the puppy outside. Holding it if it has not had shots. Come on Dad ...play ball !!!!!!

Good suggestion! Bella is my shadow too, when I'm around she wants to be with me but she loves to snuggle with the rest of the family when I'm not around and will also play with them when I am. Our Labs have always chosen my husband so it's really nice to be the "chosen" one this time with Bella:)

Well, I'm afraid I not help Jack, Alphie go to the bathroom with me. When I get through with my shower they are on the matt. I don't know what it is but I hear this is normal.

Welcome to yt:) I have 5 so iam NEVER alone:rolleyes: Molly is the worst, I was just telling my hubby that, I dont think she knows she is a dog:p I mean really, she will just sit and stare at me sometimes,BUT I love it:D :D

Paul, you may want to enroll in a puppy obedience class. Training like this helps forge a strong bond between the handler and the pup.

Also, take turns with your wife bathing, brushing, walking and playing!
