and more licks....LOL

Since last week she has begun doing this...this licking, I wish it was cause she just loved kissing me but she is licking my clothes, my shoes, my skin and hubbys too! Just a licking frenzy.

Is it cause she likes the taste on the clothes? the skin? or is she needing something?

Wow.....not sure. Is she eating OK? Is she left alone a lot, or has some drastic change happened in her world/environment recently? Sounds like it might be an anxiety thing.

How old is she?

I thought licking was a Yorkie thing! :rolleyes: At the moment I have two of them licking my feet....They want to lick all the time. Sometimes it does get to be a bit much....

Eating fine...but I home cook for her chicken and rice...some raw carrots. So I'm wondering if she maybe need some kinda vitamins.

No I am home 99.9 percent of the time. Rarely left alone.

Her world/environment is exactly the same.

Anxiety thing? She is going through a fear stage.

I'm leaning toward vitamins myself. Anyone with what kind and where.

3 months old.
Oh OK I never had a Yorkie or been around any....so I don't know their quirks... yet. ;) ;)

Milo started this recently too----he just turned one in November.

It's mostly when we're in bed----hmmmm---maybe he got the idea there.:p

Cali my 2 1/2 year old does this all the time. Licks the bedspread, the carpet etc. She has some allergies we cannot pinpoint and I thouhgt maybe she did that because she is itchy.

It maybe love. I don't mind...either but was just wondering if it was b/c of a vitamins need. Just wasn't sure.

You could try Missing Link. A lot of people on here use it. It's available at most pet stores and online many places.

Gus licks so much, we have to push him away. Then he will lick AIR!!:yelrotflm Silly dog. He licks faces, noses, toes, fingers....yada yada yada.

Both my guys have OLD - obsessive licking disorder. I mean, they NEVER stop - we have to stop them. I don't know what the deal is with all the licking....:D

Roo will lick my feet if he's on the floor and if he's sitting with me he'll lick my arms. At times it can be a bit much. Love it just the same.:animal-pa

My Phyllis looks at you and licks the air. I have no idea why she does this now . She will do it also when we go to bed ,lay on my hubbys belly and lick the air. Weird

My Schnauzer would lick a lot too, ummm but not as much like Furgie...maybe it could just be a dog thing?

I was wondering if it was because our skin has a funny taste to it... Hmmmm.... I've been told by a few people that our skin has a salty taste and that maybe why dogs like licking our skin. Hmmm.. Idk though.:)

LOL!!! Marty has that for sure!! Madeline.... not quite as much, but she prefers to go straight for the mouth.

I would agree with the skin tasting salty to them, but mine licks the wall, the floor, the clothes....not the air yet LOL!

Well it is really fun when you have 4 yorkies all trying to get the kisses/licks in all at once when we go to bed...:D :D pooh's mum

Has anyone been successful in curbing this habit? My dog licks a lot , too. and i agree, it is probably a nervous habit. But I am trying to get Therapy Dog certification and excessive licking is not desirable.

Am I the only one whos pup want to lick UP the nose? I caught my daughter letting Lana do it. Tank lolves the lips.
