| Any Suggestions????? My little girl doesn't have much interest in playing with any toys. Anyone experience the same and found a toy(s) that solved the problem? Please give me your suggestions. Thanks to all.

| My rescue Shih Tzu doesn't play with any toys either. I think it's because he was probably never introduced to them. I only got him when he was almost 3 years old. I know that's not relating to what you said. But my mom's/my dauxie, GiGi ( God rest her soul ) never hardly played with toys and my mom had her since she was 8 weeks old. Sorry, no suggestions, just comments.

| Do you have more than one baby? I have a Yorkie rescue, about 31/2 years, who had never seen a toy, edible bone, raw carrot or cooked veg's for a small snack and it was only my just turned 3 year old that turned him around. It took about 3 months for him to show any interest in toys AT ALL. My female has dozens of toys and knows them by name. Now, he plays just as much if not more than she does with them, they play together with them and he is now notorious for stealing the toys and jumping up to a chair that Gracie is afraid of and stashes them there. It's a hoot. I'm sure if you supply lots of toys, squeeky ones lured him first and keep trying to play with him, he WILL play. I always get up early enough to walk and then have 15 minutes in the morning dedicated to toy play with them, and then long walks and at least an hour of play with them in the evening. It becomes a ritual. Yorkies are very ritual oriented furbabies and count on play time and healthy snack time. Good Luck, but get involved and don't relent!!!!!

| Heartfelt Thanks...... I appreciate your wonderful advise and I will do just that for my little girl. We do have another Yorkie...a little boy named Huggz who is my daughter's baby but he likes to play but usually by himself. My little girl likes to be very close to me...she always has me in her sight!!! I plan to follow what you told me and again I thank you.

| My Zada and Azrael played with toys when they were babies till around two, then all of a sudden they lost total interest in all toys. I've given away quite a few brand new toys and just kept a few. I keep them in the toy holder and only put one out at a time for a few days, put it back and take out another. I try and play with them with the toys but they just walk away. The only play they do is chase each other and wrestle, but only maybe once a day for only one or two minutes if that. I wish they would play more. |
