| Camping? Kayaking? I guess I am getting another wild hair I have been thinking about going kayaking but have no one to go with. Does anyone take there yorkie boating/kayaking? Suggestions? Of coarse I'm not going white water rafting, just to my local lake-no biggy. Was looking at a blow up 2 seater/high seats. Imagining the weird looks I will once again get & practicing my slogan "Dont hate me cause ya aint me" I dont know, just bored to death & got the winter blues, promising myself I will make the most of spring/summer/fall-seems like they pass by so quick & you dont stop to enjoy. Also thinking about doing some camping butI dont know Do any of you camp, what do you camp in? Tent? RV? Anyone ever have a hammock tent? What does your dog like to do when you camp? What do you do together? Any gals interested in a camping/kayaking adventure? If so dont watch the movie descent or you wont be Spring Fever Everyone, look what its doing to me. I think I'm Rambo Also apparently smiley crazy at the moment Oh & hopefully a mall near by for shopping too. Last edited by rachelsyorkie; 02-24-2007 at 09:56 PM. |

| We take Levi camping with us all the time. We have a motor home so it makes it real easy. My Schnauzer use to come camping with us when we had the tents. It was fun but you have to be real organized. It would always rain and I would have a wet dog to match my wet kids! As far as KAyaking goes my husband takes Levi all the time. We live down the street from a large pond, so he gets to go quite often. My husband made a "seat" in his kayak for Levi. When he went without the "seat" Levi would get nervous because his feet would get wet and slip. He also has a nice life jacket, just in case. We have several neighbors that like to watch them. The "seat" is just a wooden crate with some rug in it for grip....hope this helps. |

| Yep! We don't go anywhere without Toto! We have an RV and a Motorhome and Toto loves it. We never use the RV anymore so will probably sell it next year ... it's really neat but compared to the Motorhome, well, we have become quite spoiled! We don't do water things because I am terrified of water .... just love to look at it! We have friends who have 5 Yorkies and they just load 'em up and take off in their Motorhome .... Yorkies love to travel and see everything!

| Winter Blues Too! We love to tent camp and hike! Nothing like cooking over an open fire. Braxton loves to go! He sleeps in his travel crate when we do go so the racoons don't "entice" him to rip a hole in the tent at night. Terriers...whatchagonnado? We're hoping Calliope isn't too prissy to enjoy camping. They'll need good tubbies when they get home - all that playing is a messy job!

| We have a sailboat that sleeps 6 that we are going to take our dogs out on. We didnt put it out in the water last year but we are going to this year. It is like camping just out on the water. I have life jackets for Chachi and Jewels so they are all ready. I am looking forward to getting them out there this year

| We always take Mojo camping, etc. with us....we did have an RV for a few years and other times, would just load up in the Jeeps and tent camp somewhere. We are big on hiking and canoeing too....Mojo never went canoeing w/ us, just because I never have gotten a life jacket...Mojo isn't much on the water though, but does like to drive and "rough" it. hee,hee

| We go camping with Murfee all the time. In fact we are living in our little 17 foot camper right now until our house is finished. He loves to go hiking with my husband...or hunting as my husband calls it. We have to be really careful because Murfee is not afraid of anything and will chase anything. We always keep him leashed. He has a life jacket for when we go boating. |

| My male who passed away last fall LOVED going boating with us. He would stand at the bow with his face into the wind - he was the happiest ever on the boat. His final days we took him out on the boat as much as possible - he loved every minute of it. Its just now warming here so my girls havent been out yet but once we get warmer weather and some tiny life jackets for them - out on the boat we will be!

| kayaking and camping We take our dogs on the boat all the time in the summer. I've thought about taking my dogs on my kayak, but I think they would be a big pain in the butt. We used to camp all the time when our kids were young. Now we are going to get a pop up or trailer so we can camp with our doggies. That way I won't have to kennel them on vacations!
