I read about the toy on here....it is a rubber ball type thing(sorry my descriptive skills are not the best), but the lady at petsmart knew exactly what it was.......anyway you can put a treat in it and they have to work to get it out....we are gonna go get a second one tonight....the boys have been playing for over an hour now and having a good time with the stupid thing.....

wow I didn't realise it was called a 'kong'! This is Lucy's very fave toy! We don't often put treats in it but she loves it anyway. She will make you chase her all around the house and garden, infact I have been chasing her for the last hour and a half and I have had to hide it to get a break or she will sit next to me and poke my leg with her nose! Thank goodness she is now sound asleep on my bed!!!

Thank you! (and Lucy gives you kisses!) Shes one of those dogs I could spend the whole day looking at, though it can be a curse (for me!) as I give in to pretty much anything she wants! Oh well they are here to be spoiled a little!

simonandhallie I also have to tell you how gorgeous your babies are! Hallie looks beautiful in her flowers! And Simon looks soooo cute in his coat! I wish that Lucy would let me dress her up like that, but she is so fussy! We bought a pair of childrens pants to put on her when she was on her first heat before she was spayed, and they stayed on for about half a second. So we put them on her teddy and she pulled them off! She is a strange doggie!

Just a question - To those who are not new to Kongs - How LONG have your dogs shown interest in the Kong? I'm afraid the joy will last a week and Bodhi will return to his sock with the squeakers tied inside.

Lucy has had hers from when she was about 6 months and is three now. It is STILL her fave toy! She plays with it everyday, even without the treats inside. I think she likes it as it is easy to pick up and run with!

| Toto has tons of toys, including a Kong. She will play with a favorite for a few days and then switch to another. I pick them all up and pile them in her toy basket and sometimes when we are all settled in for the night, she looks as though she is thinking about something ... she will suddenly run to her basket and frantically dig around like she is looking for a certain toy!! Sometimes she digs for several minutes, tossing toys aside until she finds an old favorite and she excitedly runs to one of us and we have to play!!! So even if she looses interest, we know eventually she will get back around to it!

Jim!! Cute story!! I bought a kong a long time ago for my westie and my poodle but I didn't use it much and they didn't seem to care for it. My poodle doesn't really "play with toys", but I will definately get one today when I go out because it sounds like yorkies really like them. What size did you get? I heard someone describe it as "snowman" shaped. I know it is sort of hard to describe to someone!! Anyway, It's been three days, do they still play with it and did you get a second one?
