| Question about toys. What do you do with toys that your dog is no longer interested in but are still in good shape? Lay has a bunch of toys that she is really here nor there about but they are too good to throw out! |

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | I go clean my mothers house everyother week, so when I go I gather toys that mine ignore and take to moms dog. My dogs are so spoiled, every time we go anywhere we come home with something for them, thats why when you bring bags in the house, they have all 7 little heads digging in the bags to see what we brought them. Theyre rotten |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I would'nt know... Aiden loves all his toys. He's only 4 mo.so we don't have all that much now. He does have his favorites. My older dog never played with toys, but now that Aiden has toys, Pongo tries to take them, and Aiden barks like mad,he has a melt down!! LOL I just wish he would'nt leave them all over. I pick them up and he drags them out. I'm always stepping on 3-4 on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I have to get him a toy box!!!

| Do you have any family or friends that you regularly visit? You could leave some at their houses and that way you won't have to take a bag of stuff with you for Layla to play with. (if those people don't mind of course!!) We go to my hubby's parents' house pretty regularly and Lily doesn't have things to play with over there, so we're always having to cart stuff with us.

| well you could sell them on craigslist or ebay or give them to someone else who has a dog. Or save them if you plan on getting another puppy

| Is it possible to donate the toys to a humane shelter or animal rescue? Seems to me that would be a great solution.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Keep them saved in a box and rotate toys every couple of months, if he wont play with them at all, then give them to friends, or donate them to an animal rescue

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I rotate toys. Zoey might start to play with something and then get tired of it. I put it in her toy box and she takes what she wants. Periodically I take it and turn the box upside down and scramble up the toys. So she gtes a new set of toys to play with.

| I would donate them to a shelter or rescue. They have very small budgets and cannot spend money on things like toys, but the dogs would love have something to play with!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Will they take the toys? Maybe we can have a toy drive if anyone knows of a rescue/shelter that will accept them.

| I keep buying new toys for them and end up with too many. I donate them to the Humane Society since they aren't worn and have a lot of play left in them. They are always happy to get them. I also take treats and dog food that my kids didn't like. They are happy to get them too.

| From my experience most shelters will take toys. Doesn't a member here work at a shelter (Cataholic I think?) Maybe her shelter could use them if we did a toy drive? I know mine have somewhere btwn 150-200 toys and they don't play with most of them. And there is no way I've moving 2 or 3 huge boxes of toys with us when we finally move.

| I have been collecting new things for the lab rescue: LRR: LRR/Help Us but they take bigger or tougher toys. Maybe a Yorkie rescue would take them?
