| Backpacking Europe I couldn't find an 'off topic' forum page so I'm posting this here. I will be meeting my best friend in Germany then backpacking Europe for a few weeks, starting in a few days. Each place we go will only be for a few days, so I'm looking for tips from locals, how to get around quickly, what to see, etc. Any advice is welcomed. On our list, we will see; Germany, Holland (one day), Ireland (~2.5 days), Scotland & England (~2.5 days), Marsaille FR (2 days), Nice, FR (2) and Paris FR (2), then a rest in Germany before my flight home. I will be bringing Alaska postcards with me for trade. Can you think of anything else to bring that will trade well? I'm told our places to stay are set up in the first few countries, I need to find places in France, any suggestions? I will not be bringing Marty McFly. Thanks for your time.

| England My friend tells me that we will have a hostel in London. About the itinerary, we might have to use rocket fuel to keep going!

| Sorry, it's just a bit of a joke If you live in a touristy spot, you sometimes come across people doing whirlwind coach tours of Europe. I lived in the Lake District & got chatting to a group of American tourists one night in the pub in Keswick. They'd done Scotland that day, staying overnight in the Lakes, going on to London next day (Tuesday), then Paris the day after.....& so on. They were doing 8 countries in 7 days, by coach, before flying home. xx Meggie |
