| Moving to the UK! Hi I'm planning on moving to the UK next year. I was wondering how hard it is to get rental accommodation that would allow two wee dogs? Also any of you do agility? Know of any good clubs in London? Any other tips? I lived in London many years ago but I was a footloose and fancyfree 18 year old back then and didn't have small dogs at the centre of my life! o yes I was one of those New zealanders serving beer in your pubs! lol!

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | Well in Worcester where I live it's not hard to find accomodation if you have dogs. Let me know what part are you thinking of moving to and if it's close to here my hubby could help as he owns his own Estate Agency!

I'm assuming your coming to the London area - if not - just ignore the rest I wish you luck because although there are many holiday lets that accept dogs there are few residential lets around here. But, here's a rare one: Pet Friendly Rentals Try searching the site, but regrettably there aren't very many and, to be honest, you will probably have to look towards the London suburbs or even further away like Kent, Essex, Surrey, Berkshire etc. That would mean leaving your dogs for a long time each day or using a dog sitter service if you have to commute to London for work. Here's a new(ish) site that hasn't really got off the ground yet but may wake up a bit by the time you're ready to come over - you could try asking a question in the forum or posting a classified ad: About Us - MyLondonDog Failing that, search Yell.com for Estate Agents/Letting Agencies. Agility Ask the Kennel Club for details of registered clubs and societies Registered Clubs and Societies - Agility - The Kennel Club Sites with forums Welcome to Agilitynet Agility Bits dog agility home page Importing dogs to the UK. Very long-winded but vital to know if you don't want them to go into quarantine for 6 months. Defra, UK - Animal health and welfare - Bringing pets to Britain Look me up when (if) you come over and we'll do a few "weaves" together (just like the old days, eh? ) but why ANYone would want to leave beautiful New Zealand is beyond me. | Thanks for all the info! Really useful -- there's nothing like local knowledge! I'm going to the UK to earn some pounds to be able to afford in beautiful New Zealand LOL! A block of New Zealand cheese now costs the same here as it does in Central London! MADNESS Macaroni Cheese is no longer a cheap filling food for those on a budget! The Boyf's dying to live in London but I'll be quite keen to get him away from there. I'm half scottish so I'd love to live in edinburgh. The yorkies are voting for York or where James Herriot lived. (LOL!) If you drank in the Hinchley Wood Pub 12 years ago I will probably have pulled you a pint!

Try central England - you'll be right on the doorstep when you qualify for Crufts Agility | |

| Sadly the boyf is newer than the dogs so he's not quite as attached as me. Hopefully he'll be super attached by the time it's time to package up the yorkies.

| LOLZ Sadly I think geographically speaking Dixie Dog might be even further away from her one true love, Eddie Dog. There will be the Atlantic Ocean and the whole Nth American continent between them instead of just the Pacific!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Eddie and Dixie could handle it. But they'll need a raft in the middle. Swimming more than half the Atlantic can be a bit tiring.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | How romantic. There was a song like that that I idolized as a child. I'm not sure what it was called, but it was about "Runnin' Bear and Little White Dove." They met in the middle of a lake and drowned! I think Eddie and Evil Wee are too wily to drown, though.
