| Royal Canin For Yorkies HI I have wanted to try the Royal Canin made especially for Yorkshire Terriers, but have been put off by the number of threads on the US forum saying that it made their dogs itch so badly that they had to take them off it. Has anyone on this forum had this problem with Royal Canin? Luv Franceen |

| I don't know about the RC in pet stores but they also make one sold only to vets called Royal Canin Veterinary Diet which has limited ingredients. |

| We had no problems as far as allergies, Zoe just didn't like it and I switched to a premade raw so that she would put on some weight and it seems to be working. |

| Pixie is on Royal canin (kibble) called 'Digest & skin puppy' I buy it from my vet, I mix this kibble with the Royal Canin canned chicken & Rice which i also buy from my vet, I sometimes mix the kibble with other canned meat for variety, Pixie especially likes Butchers Tripe. She is doing very well on the RC, she has clean skin and shiny coat and never has any tummy problems. I will Probably try switching her to the RC especially for Yorkies when she is 10 months(she is coming up to 8 months) and see how she goes on that.

| I've only heard from others on the forum that they took there dogs off it. I have never used it. Its terrible how hard it is to get good food and where they don't end up changing the ingredients on you.

| Lucy eats RC and she does not itch from it. She likes it. She has a sensitive stomach. She also eats ZD prescription wet food. And I have fed her the wet food by hand to make sure she eats. She has never had much of an appetite. She has put on almost a pound with me hand feeding her. She was only 3 and a half pounds before. |

| My three are all on the Royal Canin Yorkshire. They've had no problems with itching, or anything else for that matter. In fact my oldest was always getting doses of the trots with everything I tried before this, none since she went on it. One of my others has grown a much better coat since starting on it. He always had a really thin coat that broke easily, but it's getting quite long now & really silky. I have far more problems finding food for my bigger Skyes that doesn't make them either itch or have the runs |

| Lucy was on it when I got her and I was satisfied since she liked it but she started itching so bad I took the recommendations from the forum and got her off of it. No more itching...

| Both of my girls were on Royal Canin Yorkshire Food for about a year. They liked it but my Alyssa has severe skin allergies. She is allergic to the corn and wheat that are present in the Royal Canin. I switched Alyssa to Canidae and now we are using Life's Abundance. Emmy on the other hand loved it and did well on it. She did not itch and scratch and break out. I think it just depends on the dog and what their body can tolerate.
