| Sad at the loss of my Jakie Pooper.. Hello Group, Glad to have found a discussion group about Yorkies. My name is Sally and lost my Yorkie on Thursday, Feb09/06. I had to go out of town for 3 days and he just didn't see himself, so I thought he knows I am going and is depressed, he stayed with my Mom, and when I arrived back I picked him up at Moms and couldn't wait to see him. Got him home and still just wasn't himself, not eating drinking and panting very fast, took him to the vet and his lungs were filled with fluid and the Vet told me he is very ill. She told me he doesn't look like he is going to make it. I had to make a decision then either to take him home and hope he makes it throught the night or put him to sleep. I put him to sleep, I didn't want him to suffer, the vet told me he was very uncomfortable not being able to get oxygen to his lungs so he could breathe and I didn't want him to hurt. She said it was the humane thing to do He would of turned 11 in March. I stayed with him kissed him, hugged him and I cried and cried. He had a good life, just wished he could of been with me longer. He was my baby. I miss him so much, just waiting for him to follow me, looking for him. He will never be forgotten. I miss him so. Hope you all have a nice evening. Hope to meet some new friends here. Sally |

| I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your little one. It is always sad to have to have them put to sleep, but you did what was best for him. They will never live as long as we want them to. You are a caring and loving person who had to make a hard decision. There are many of us here who have been in the same situation, and believe me, you will get a lot of people giving you hugs and sending prayers your way. We all feel your pain. Hang in there. |

| Oh, that is so sad, I'm so sorry for your loss. You did the right thing and he appreciates it, and how wonderful to have been there with him when he passed, I know just how hard that is, but I'm so thankful to have experienced it. You're in my prayers.

| Thank you so much Hi Patti, rrosenberry, artierae, and Lil Mis Magic, Thank-you for your posts, its so nice to hear from you, and knowing how I feel, It was one of the hardest things to do for me. I knew it was the right thing to do, I didn't want to take him home and he fight for his very last breath and me watching and that is what I would remember about his last time on earth. I was very sad, to do what I did but I know he went in peace, but it doesn't make it any easier. I still have his food bowl, and toys around and just can't seem to put them away, I guess that will come in time. I am glad I have found this forum. Take care! I am sure I will be here very often. Take Care Sally |

| Losing our little ones is never easy So sorry to hear about your baby. I would like to pass along something my vet once told me when I had to help a beloved pet to cross the " Rainbow Bridge"-- she told me to take solace in the knowledge that dogs and cats have no sense of longevity. They don't measure their lives by how long they have lived, but by how well they have lived. Knowing that your baby had a wonderful, happy and full life and that you didn't let him suffer should help with your grieving. God bless. |

| Sally, I am sooo sorry for your loss...It must have been soooo hard to make that decision, but I'm sure you made the right one for your little one. Sounds like your furbaby had a wonderful, spoiled life, and he is now in heaven watching over you. He is no longer suffering, and he is no longer sick. It will take time, and you have all of us here at YT for support.
