G.W. LITTLE MODEL SEARCH
to be held at this year's
NATIONAL DOG DAY
event at Calamigos Ranch, Malibu, CA.

G.W. Little is having a model search and a day at the Ranch on August 26th. the First Prize winner will get to be in their catalogue along with a $300 gift certificate. The second prize winner will get a $200 gift certificate. It looks like fun!

Your dog could be the next cover model for G.W. Little! On Sunday, August 26th, Angela and John, the owners of G.W. Little will be judging a small dog (25 pounds and under) fashion show at 4pm at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA.

The first place winner will receive a photo shoot and a spot on a G.W. Little catalog cover in 2008, along with a $300 gift certificate. Second place winner will receive a $200 gift certificate and third place a $100 gift certificate.

There will be fun events going on all day long during this 2nd Annual National Dog Day event. Please visit www.nationaldogday.com for more information and advance registration.

That sounds like soooo much fun! Thanks for the head's up!!! The Biewer show is the same day...oh no!!!! I wish I could go to the Biewer thing on Saturday and this on Sunday, but I already have plans on Saturday. Hmmm...decisions, decision!!! Thanks for the info though!

!!!! As adorable as my Sukoshi is (of course...I may be a little biased, but I think she's just the cutest), your babies are all so beautiful, that I don't know if we'd want you for our competition

Well, I e-mailed the people in charge of the event the night I found this thread to see if I was too late to enter Sukoshi in this year's event (their website said the registration deadline was August 20th), and they e-mailed back last night and said to go ahead and enter her. So...I did...and she won 2ND PLACE (out of about 30 small dogs)!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't be more pleased. 1st place went to an adorable, tiny chiguagua (she probably didn't even weigh 2 pounds!!!!). So, we didn't get the "cover model" spot, but we just went for fun, and the $200 gift certificate we got made the trip well worth it. They made the "contestants" walk the runway twice, and then on the last trip down, they had to sit and look over their shoulder in the "famous" model pose. It was great to watch all of them attempt it, even if they didn't quite get it down. And, the GW people wanted our contact info, so who knows...maybe they'll still decide they want Sukoshi for some "modeling" for inside the catalog. So..."KathyinCali"...thanks so much for this thread!

(And Dee...sorry I didn't make it to the Biewer event. We did wave at you guys as we drove by on the 60, but we opted for this since it was something we could actually participate in. How'd your Biewers do?!?!?!)

Well, the GW people wanted our contact info, so you never know...they may call for the INSIDE of the catalog, even though we didn't get the front cover. Even if they don't, it was a lot of fun to enter her!

I know! I just love showing her off, so I think it would be so fun to see her "in print" in a catalog! Guess we'll wait and see! And spending the gift certificate ought to be fun in the meantime!!!

They weren't required to wear a GW outfit, but they were supposed to wear something "couture" - a similar style to GW Little's clothing line. I went to their website to see what they considered "couture", and lucky for us, Sukoshi already had one of the dresses from their website (although we bought it from Muttropolis in Newport Beach...not GW Little

). So, that was "hands down" the dress she was going to wear!!!

I did have Matt take a couple pics of her "modeling"...

No, you don't have to be an LA resident to sign up because I'm not an LA resident!!! I don't even live in LA County!! You just have to be available to go to Thousand Oaks on a separate day for the cover model photo shoot if you win 1st place.

Yea...it was such a fun day out! Sukoshi got to lick lots of dogs AND show her stuff for the judges! After her first pass down the runway, she shook her body (like when they're trying to dry off or something), and I said, "That's right...fluff the hair for the judges", and the announcer laughed and said "Make-up!!!!" like she was in Hollywood. It was hilarious!
