Park Bench Cafe - Huntington Beach, CA Has anyone been to the Park Bench Cafe in Huntington Beach, CA? I found them on a list of dog-friendly restaurants in CA... http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/tr...tstateCA.shtml Their website is http://www.parkbenchcafe.com/, and according to dogfriendly.com, they are "THE most dog-friendly restaurant [they] have found yet." They even have a dog menu for those furbabies that get people food! Their hours are kinda weird (only open til 2 Tu-Fri and 3 on Sat & Sun), but it says they can arrange "Poochie Parties", so maybe we could get a bunch of YorkieTalkers together there one day. You can read the review from dogfriendly.com below. We haven't taken Sukoshi there yet, but soon... "This is THE most dog-friendly restaurant we have found yet. Your dog will absolutely feel welcome here. They even have a separate Doggie Dining Area. And if these tables are full (which they normally are), the nice folks will try to accommodate you and your pooch at the perimeter tables of the other seating area which is next to the dog dining area. Dogs also have their own special menu. It's actually on the people's menu, but includes items like Hot Diggity Dog (hot dog a la carte), Bow Wow Chow (skinless chicken), Annabelle's Treat (chopped bacon bits) and Doggie Kibble (dog kibble for dogs that don't eat table food). For those especially pampered pups, order the Chili Paws (single scoop of Vanilla ice cream) for dessert. This restaurant can arrange special events like Poochie Parties for your dog and a minimum of six of his or her best friends. The party menu has a mouth-watering array of foods for dogs. They do ask that your dog stay off the tables and chairs. But with all the other canine amenities, pooches don't get upset about that rule. The people food here is quite tasty too. They serve a full breakfast ranging from omelets to pancakes and belgium waffles. Lunch includes a variety of hamburgers and sandwiches. This cafe is located in Huntington Central Park at 17732 Golden West Drive between Slater Dr and Talbert Ave. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8am-2pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8am-3pm, and closed on Mondays. Come and enjoy the food and atmosphere." |
I've read about it on DogFriendly too but I have never been there. I usually end up going to Fashion Island since 99% of the stores are dog friendly and it's an outdoor mall - lots of fun people and doggie watching. |

Sorry to butt in, Fashion Island is in Newport Beach, Orange County. :) Also, South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa, Orange County) allows dogs. Not in restaurants of course, but you can take them into all the high-end stores (Louis Vuitton, Nordstrom, Cartier, etc.) along with all the regular stores (Victoria's Secret, Sears, etc.) without any problems at all! I think they only allow small dogs (which is all I've seen there), but you might be able to get a bigger one in. |

The Irvine Spectrum is also Dog Friendly. It's another outdoor mall that is wonderful! http://www.shopirvinespectrumcenter.com/Directions.aspx |

Excellent! I always get lost but with maps like these there is no chance of that. I hope to one day meet you and your furkids, I have always loved their pictures. :D |
Thanks everyone for the tips on other dog-friendly places. I'm always looking for places to take the baby! |
I just noticed this thread! I often meet a friend of mine with her dog in Fashion Island. We are yet to be asked to leave ANY store when she has her dog, even though he is huge like a horse:D. It is definitely a VERY dog friendly place; I often see Yorkies in Fashion Island, on leashes, in strollers, etc. I would love to meet any of you guys there with my demented little Mango, who is still in full-blown Puppy Madness at 6 months.....:animal37 |
