Donating YT 500 Club Member | I haven't, nor would I buy a puppy from them. It's obvious from the site, dogs are a business for them, as bad as a pet store or puppymill, IMO. "Fully licensed" kennel usually means a USDA breeder or commercial breeder.

| Feedback Hi, I checked out the website you were talking about. Cute puppies YES. The fact is any "breeder" that is advertising several breeds to sell is a major RED FLAG. If you are wanting to buy a yorkie, maltese etc. You need to go to a reputable breed that focuses on one breed. A "tea cup" yorkie is another selling technique. There is no such word in a yorkie breeders vocabulary. Any dog that is less than 3lbs you really want to talk to a vet or someone who is objective and can tell you about their health issues. Hope this helps. I have a female yorkie born 11-6-2009 if interested. I live in San Diego! Home I wish you luck and hope you find your little puppy soon! Take Care Vicki |

| I got Wall-e from LA Kennel. They were very nice and the place was clean. They made sure we cleaned our hands before holding the puppies. We were there for a couple hours, they let us ask all kinds of questions and we got to see everything. Wall-e was and still is perfectly healthy, and they gave us their phone numbers and email so we could call and ask questions anytime, even at night if needed.

| Definitely doesnt look good. Too many breeds and they are selling "teacups"... you always know that is a money ploy. I would keep looking... good luck in your search.

| I'll say this: Pros- -No paypal option -You have to contact them for more information (as in they are interested in getting to know you) -They only have one puppy currently available compared to others who might have up to 15 Cons- -Their "about us" page has very little on the actual kennel -Their health guarantee sounds way to general (maybe you need to contact them -They register with Continental Kennel Club -No pics or description on their studs and bitches (maybe you'll meet them there??) -More than one breed advertised. Overall, I find it lacking of information. They do recommend neutering which I think is a plus, but I am a little disappointed that they don't recommend an age. It is my belief that a breeder (a good one) will know to recommend that a pup be fixed after all the adult teeth are in (at about 6 months) so that any retained teeth can be extracted at the same time the pup is under to be fixed. They might provide this in a puppy packet, that I don't know, but I do think that one that cares and has a site offering information on puppies would put stuff like that up there regardless if the person is buying, will buy, or has bought from them. Some people look at breeders pages for answers to questions. Just my opinion. Oh, side note, I find it funny that it's "LA kennel" and they're not in LA. Not a pro or a con, I just find it funny.

I agree there just isn't enough information to go by. From what I see, they only have 3 breeds which isn't bad. And the fact that they won't mix them is a good sign. Plus you would think if they were a high volume breeder with lots of dogs they would have more than one puppy available. Oh and it does say they offer a 1 year health guarantee and it sounds like they might even offer a money refund which is kinda rare. They also don't ship which is a good sign as well, shows they really want to know the person and not just give it to anyone who pays. I don't however like that they don't have any pictures of the adults and such little information on their setup and breeding practices in general. It also doesn't mention at what age they let the pups go. That is very important and will tell you a lot about a breeder as well. Again just not enough information. If you are really interested and you live close by check them out. If you feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable with things, walk away. There are definitely many breeders out there who are reputable and better to go with. Remember getting a puppy/dog is a serious commitment and shouldn't be taken lightly. You need to know your puppy is happy and healthy and will stay that way.

| buying a yorkie in LA Quote:
One must be very careful when dealing with a breeder for there is one in LA that has a raffle and sold a yorkie female for 9,000 dollars. The claim was that tis puppy was the smallest in the world , about 2lbs, which is not true. Red Flag!!!!!! Be careful and really check them out Bently 1 | |
