| HI! Welcome to YT!! yes, the yorkies can end up with both sets of teeth. All of my girls had to have teeth pulled when they got spayed. Your babies should be about ready for spay/neuter in another month or two. I would recommend getting their dental done then. Good luck!! Give them lots of things to chew on too...that will help loosen the baby teeth. |

| 2 sets of teeth thank you for the advice. My two babies have been neutered already. If I give them lots of "stuff" (suggestions on what) for them to chew will that be sufficient? Thanks again ollies and coopers momma |

| Lot's of chew toys will help but probably not be sufficient to get them all. A dental visit in late adolescence is very common. If you notice a particular stench it's decay from a baby tooth and you will want to get in quickly. A decaying baby tooth can lead to infection in the bloodstream or simply ruining an adjacent adult tooth. Good dental health is very important to overall health in... our breed especially. |

Stay away from rawhides as that isn't digestible and can cause GI problems. Anything natural should be ok...like pig's ears or hooves. Be sure and supervise any chewing item that can have a piece broken off as you don't want them to get choked. I am sure there are others here who have ideas...since your boys have already been neutered, you will need to have them put under anesthetic again for dental so hopefully, you can get those stubborn teeth to fall out on their own!! if they still have a lot of baby teeth at a year old, i would recommend getting them pulled out since food and stuff can also get lodged in there and will cause them to have super bad breath and it can jeopardize the health of their permanent teeth. Get them used to brushing their teeth or put the dental care in their water. That is what we use so i don't have to brush their teeth. It keeps their breath fresh and teeth clean of plaque buildup. Good luck with your boys!! | |
