For example, I had a vet who wanted to do surgery on my puppy for a herina and Gina told me herinas are normal in small puppies and they do not cause any pain and they "pop" back into place as it grows up... within a few weeks, it was GONE. So in other words, the Vet I went to was trying to take advantage of me and Gina and Ben provided me with excellent advice. My puppy is happy and healthy and about 4 years old now and we've never had any health problems. Thank you.

Hernias are NOT normal in puppies. They are the result of a defect in the abdominal wall. They do not go away on their own. Sometimes, they will 'reduce' on their own, but the underlying defect is still present and runs the risk of occurring again and strangulating the intestine. The only permanent cure is surgically closing the defect. You were exceedingly lucky that you didn't have complications while waiting 'a few weeks' for it to 'pop back in'. It's shameful that pet shop owners will give medical advice.

Hi I bought my baby from staryorkie.com on 12/28/10 and I must say he is an angel! I am so thankful Gina and Ben had my little son. I luv the fact that they where close and I was able to go pick him up and not have him shipped from anyother place. So, what if he came from Korea my son is 100% healthy and when I got him both Gina and Ben followed up after he was with me to make sure my baby was doing well in his new home. I knew that if I had any problems and or questions they were available 24/7 ... They even called to ask me to see if he was eating enough to witch as a brand new mommy I found very comforting. So people please don't be miss lead by negativity Ben and Gina do not run a puppy mill they just facilitate us with healthy sweet loving pets that will be with us for a very long time.

Hmmm, I really do not know what to say to you if you do not care about what type of environment your puppy came from. All I can say is sad and what a shame.

They are brokers and hae been taken to court for selling sick pups and have lost.

I find it very strange that your first post is in defense of these people....very telling.

I, for one, care where my pup comes from. Extensive research on the buyer's part is a must. Caveat Emptor.

No one here is fooled by first time posters raving about a puppymill broker. They may not run the puppymill, but they are brokering FOR the pupppymill. That is even worse as they are trying to put an innocent face on a horrid business. I hope with continued court action, they will be put out of busines eventually. Even if they are not shut down now, they will pay through eternity for the sins of abuse they have enabled!

I wish they would at least make it a law that puppies need to be 6 months old before transporting into the country. That would still enable those wanting to get their dogs from overseas, the opportunity to import them. But it would put an end to 6 week old puppies being taken from their mothers and thrown into a cargo hold to wind up who knows where. No greedy puppymiller would want to support them until they were 6 months old -- so this would put an end to it! Only the quality dog breeders would care enough to keep their pups 6 months before finding them a forever home. 6 MONTHS OLD BEFORE IMPORTING OR EXPORTING!

I still cannot fathom why someone would buy a dog or puppy from a broker much less bother with getting it from overseas. As a prospective new puppy owner you would know nothing about where your puppy came from nor how it was raised.
What is wrong with our yorkies that come from caring breeders here in Canada or the US and certainly getting one locally much a lot more sense.
There are many many puppymills overseas. What loving caring breeder would ever consider shipping their puppies anywhere for someone else to sell where the breeder has no idea what kind of home it is going to, indeed if the buyer has any idea of how to look after a yorkie pup, no follow up, no guarantees. Makes no sense to me to support this kind of industry that has turned live puppies into nothing more than a commodity. Shame on you.

First and probably their last too. I really cannot figure out why this happens so often. Not the sharpest tool in the shed to call attention to poor breeding, shipping from overseas and bumping up a thread from 2007 that goes on for 12 pages. The majority of the posts all bringing to light the very questionable practices of this broker.
