I purchased Charlie from Dawn and while we didn't have a written contract she did tell me verbally that she would stand behind any genetic defects.
Charlie needed patella surgery and on the one knee there was no groove at all for the knee cap.( I know that I should have had a written contract)
Any way I called her and she agreed to pay for half of the surgery. I found this phenomenal because I have not had great luck with breeders in the past and they usually pay nothing.

She is a fair and honest breeder. She has been available and patient with my many questions.

I would highly recommend her.

You said she agreed to pay. Did she actually pay for half the surgery? or is this still something to happen in the future? Not sure I understood what you said.

That's nice when you find a good breeder. Two of the breeders I got my babies from where great too. Kathy785, and a woman named Mary Young.

She did pay for half the surgery.

Thank you for clarification. It is always good to hear when a breeder keeps their word and goes all the way for you.

you were very lucky, as most breeders don't gurantee anything to do with the luxating patella, as puppies/dogs can get that from even jumping..Too bad there weren't more breeders like this woman

that the breeder agreed to pay on this surgery was because I took Charlie to an orthopedic surgeon and he said that when he operated, there was no groove for the knee cap to ride in at all, he had to make one, not deepen one that was already there, there for it was proven to be genetic and not due to injury.

Even so a lot of breeders wouldn't have stepped up and paid toward the surgery, she is a special person and very honest and caring. She is a small breeder, and very concerned about the pups she places.

Nice to hear a good happy ending.
I am not going to bother asking for the contact. Genetic, surgery , all sounds very expensive to me.
