You better hope you're not calling me a backyard breeder. Until recently, I hadn't had a litter in over a year and a half and when I do, it's about 2 litters a year. Just because breeders don't show, it doesn't make them BYBer's. You're painting with a mighty broad brush. In my opinion, BYBer's have stacks of cages in house or yard with matted dogs that hardly ever have human interaction and get little to no vet care. They breed roach back snaggletooth dogs with diseases. Who in the world do you think you are? And as far as jumping with glee, I think not. This subject is not funny nor entertaining. |
As far as BYB's, some of the best breeders I know, are what a lot of you would consider byb's, they care more about their pups, they're raised in their houses, and the care about where they go..I'm so sick of people saying things about supposed bybs. I would rather buy from a supposed byb, then a show breeder that is sending her pups to petstores.. |
This will be my last post on this thread because I really think that Glenda said it all in her own written words. However, if you really sit back, reread each and every post (with a clear mind....not defensive), you will see just how incredibly sad this is. The breeders that have stood up for Glenda and the fact that she shipped precious puppies to a pet store are yet to even seem slightly sad and/or bothered by this! :( :thumbdown You would rather defend another show breeder's reputation than take a stand for those innocent babies!! Not that it matters, but this has brought tears to my eyes and I am bothered by those of you that have justified Glenda Beaver's actions. She is the human that made the decision to scoop up all of those little babies, place them in kennels, take them to the airport and send them on their way to a PETSTORE. Those of you that have "dedicated" yourselves to this breed (like you say), how can you not even address this...how can you possibly ignore the feelings of these puppies?! I don't get it!! Tammy |
Tammy, These are my feelings too. :( It makes me sad. I don't care who does it, it's sad and in my opinion, wrong. If a person wouldn't ship their own dogs to a petstore, why would they ship someone elses? I pose these questions to those defending GB. *IF* you had a litter of puppies, would you sell them to a pet store? If a friend asked you to ship their puppies to a pet store, would you? |

A couple 2-3 years ago there was a lady that was a breeder, plus showed dogs(can't remember what kind), but, she was busted for having a puppy mill. She was really big in to the show ring. Now, I'll have to do a search to see if I can find who it was, or where she was from or what kind of dogs she showed |
This is incredibly sad...I pity the puppies, poor innocent living creatures. How could she, how could any one...knowingly ship defenseless pups to a pet store...any pet store. She personally admitted to this...I have no pity for her. |

I feel very sorry for the puppies which have been shipped to this pet store. I also cannot understand why GB would not sell a pet puppy to someone who could not afford the $3000.00 she wanted for a pet puppy, but would instead send the puppy to a pet store? When we all know they sure did not pay her $3000.00 for each puppy, not even close to it. If this is all true, which it seems to be I feel very sorry for GB too. If I was her I would not be able to sleep at night knowing I had puppies sitting in a pet store and Lord only knows where they ended up! The only victims in all this is the poor puppies! :( Anyone who protest to love this breed, spend years showing this breed and then turns around and places puppies with a pet store is only in it for the money, sad very sad. |
#50 KarenAnn One poster asked why she would sell to pet stores. I can only think that it is an easy outlet for the many non-show quality pups that are produced while trying to get the "perfect" pup. Maybe these pups\' imperfections were serious enough that she couldn\'t sell them with her name attached to them, so they were sent to her "friends" the Silvermans, at a severely discounted rate. Who knows? Who would ever think that there is a group of people who actually researches these health certificates? Obviously she didn\'t. maybe this is the reason? |
