I was scammed by this lunatic lady just a week ago. I purchased a Rat Terrier puppy which she claimed was 8 weeks old. Our vet said he didn't think she was that old at all. From reports I seen, it is illegal for her to see puppies that are under 8 weeks old in Indiana. Hmmmmm. She sold my cousin the brother of my female, Noel the following day and he as coccidia, (what a shock). He was put on Albon and was finally starting to drink water on his own but still has no appetite. Just tonight my lil Noel started with very soft stools and so now I am scared that she also has coccidia. She is eating very well and drinking good so I will keep an eye on her this evening, and will probably have to take her in the morning (Christmas Day) to the vet for a thorough checkup again. Funny thing is....she wouldn't allow us to come to her house, she insisted that we meet her in town at Kmart as she also instructed my cousin the following night. I contacted ASPCA and have emailed several of the sites I have seen her listings to try and get her kicked off those sites. I am willing to do whatever I can to get her shut down and most importantly, help those poor puppies from the situation they are in.

So sorry to hear of another victim of this woman!! Hopefully, she will be out of business soon!!!!

I take it you found YT after you bought your puppy.

Way back when I was looking for a Yorkie, (which turned out to be Otis) I actually spoke to this Lois lady on the phone. I found her on Breedersclub.net. She emailed me pics of her pups and I was seriously thinking of going and looking. I think she was a school bus driver. Anyway, we were never able to work out a time for me to come and see them, and I found Otis way down in North Vernon. I'm so glad you are spreading the word about this lady. Between all of the Indiana YT members, we can at least inform as many people as we can to do something about her. Hope Lillie is doing alright.

Has anyone considered a letter to the editor of her local paper? She probably advertises there as well. And if she's a school employee (bus driver) that would also put some heat on her.

I am so so sorry that you were scammed by Lois, I tried my best to get her shut down. It's sad to know that she is still breeding! This just breaks my heart to know that so many dogs are being born under her "care"


Paulapoo- I'm SO SO glad that you were unable to meet with her, someone was looking over your shoulder! You have NO idea the heartbreak that this would have caused you and your family!

I really hope people do there research before jumping into buying a dog, even if you do a name search to make sure nothing comes up.

She is a school bus driver, so maybe your right, she needs to be reported, I bet they would just love to know what she does. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT WANT MY CHILD ON A BUS WITH THIS LADY!

Can you all go to the news stations? We have 3 on your side, that reports on TV news, lots of fraud that goes on.(on channel 3 news) The other channels have this also. Maybe if enough people that have gotten scammed by her and have gotten very sick puppies could got together, Lois would get her and her filthy house on TV where all could see. Wouldnt that be great advertising!!!LOL

I am not sure on that. But if enough of you have all the facts and maybe statments from Vets, etc, you might give it a try. I am sure the news stations would have more knowledge than me about the legal aspects. But our news stations out here really put shady businesses on the spot!!!! Alot of them have gone out of business, some just dissappeared. But, wouldnt it be great to get her on TV???!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

I have sent several emails to all the sites she is advertising. Maybe if you do this as well and if enough people send them emails, they will stop her from advertsisng.

I will also send a email to the news paper in Martinsville.

This just makes me sick !! Cocci can be treated and not real serious unless the pup is a tiny or weak. BUT if left untreated, the pup gets so weak they can die. ( don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Cocci is ok ! ) But DISTEMPER ? You've got to be kidding me? The animal control doesn't care about distemper? :mad: They have had reports of 4 pups that have died? I thought their job was to protect animals ? Who writes animal controls pay checks ? I would call them and tell them what you saw, and what you were told about sick and dying dogs from her being sold to the public and animal control won't call you back. You want it investigated now, and the problems of filth etc. corrected, because thats their job to protect the animals. I'm glad you dogs are now ok and thanks for trying to help shut this person down ! It just makes me so mad when officials that can do something about the problem, don't.....

I contacted the Morgan County Humane Society and this is what she wrote back.

I know who this breeder is. We've had several calls about sick pups from here. Unfortunately we do not have authority to regulate breeding in our county. The state vet is supposed to be the one that inspects these areas and the AKC organization. I doubt that the Hancocks have any connection with anyone at the State Vet office. The vet is Dr. Lovelace that you would need to speak with. We've been out to the breeders residence several times and have found no violations. Unfortunately, with that much breeding going on there tends to be alot of diseases. We are the Animal Control Department for Morgan County but are very limited on what we can legally do. If there are no violations, we can not even bring the prosecuter in on these matters. I would suggest that you file a small claims judgement with the courts to get a refund if the Hancocks do not reimburse you for the dog or the expenses. I will pass this on to our A/C officer but I doubt there is much we can do. If people continue to purchase dogs from breeders, even if the visit the location and feel comfortable buying from this breeder, what more can we do?

I TOTALLY Agree with you ! I cant believe that so called 'breeder' had distemper - those poor poor dogs ! Missy - good luck with whatever you can do to stop her -

have you thought of your local FOX News station ? They jumped in here in Houston - remember Brushy Creek Kennels ? You may want to write them an email telling them what you know - and what Animal Control is doing - which sounds like NOTHING
