| Beware goldmine yorkies!! I emailed them about a puppy and asked about one of their puppies, Magic. I asked them for any additional videos/pictures after emailing back and forth. They replied that I was insecure and selfish and that I should get a stuffed yorkie instead. The entire email is enclosed below. I will not tolerate any rudeness. Enclosed are the emails: Buying a puppy that you don't know in person and can only see online is a huge risk for me or ANY OTHER BUYER. I don't know if you are reputable or a puppy mill or not. The fact that you refuse to give me any more pictures or videos and the fact that your health guarantee is iffy raises so many red flags. I do not appreciate you insulting me. You just ruined the chance to give your puppy an excellent home. I will be sure to let everyone I know to avoid you as a breeder, both for your lack to provide proof or reputability and for your unfriendly candor. You will not be hearing from me again and I do not want to hear from you again. Goodbye. I hope all potential buyers learn to avoid this puppy mill in the future. Just glad that GoldMine yorkies revealed its true side. On Jun 19, 2014, at 2:10 PM, wrote: Excuse Me! Just because I asked you a few questions about Magic and his background does not mean that I am insecure and need a stuffed Yorkie and it certainly does not mean that you have to insult me. I would not trust you selling me any of your puppies. Please do not contact me again. I will be looking elsewhere for my Yorkie, from a breeder that actually appreciates that I am asking questions and knows that she is getting the best home that she can for her puppy. I do not have a fenced in yard, however, I do have a dog park very close to my house and I will take my Yorkie there every day so that he/she will have exercise every day. There will also be an exercise pen in my house. I have two girls, 10 and 13. Before I even considered getting a dog, I had to make sure that they were mature enough to take on the responsibility. They are now mature enough to get a dog. They may seem strict from how I described then (lol!) but they are very fun-loving and kind. I also understand that you should not use a collar on yorkies, I have done thorough research on the breed and how to take proper care of them. I will be using a harness. I have never owned a Yorkie before, but have had dogs before, and I petsit my neighbors Yorkie. My Yorkie will also have tons of pet friends to play with and roam around with. I will probably feed my Yorkie Royal Canin, but I am not positive yet. However, if I do not choose royal Canin I will choose another high quality dog brand without any of that bad stuff (I also did research on dog food). What age do you let your puppies go home? | For the record, the meaning of my post is not to "get revenge" on this certain breeder. This site is to post a review of any bad experiences you may have, and I had a bad experience. I would highly recommend staying away! Thank you! |

| Wow, there are so mannnnnyyyyyy things wrong with this breeder. They put nail polish on them to tell them apart? ummmm, even I know that is ridiculous! They have 4 generations and that's rare? omg, they are crazy. 8 weeks old? They will lower the cost? no personal nothing......on an on and on and on... DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE BACK YARD BREEDERS with 15 dogs and don't know of any health p-roblems in the lines....TESTING?????? NOT.

| Update: After my last email, one of the two (I believe "Refty") replied 3 hours later: "Be careful about calling us a puppy mill. That can and will lead to legal action.Be careful or you will have to back this up.Did not want o hear from you either." My complaint is about REFTY AND BRENDA TAYLOR (Specifically Refty and his behavior) of GOLD MINE YORKIES or GOLDMINE YORKIES. Their website is goldmineyorkies.com. I've only conversed once with the wife: "He is all that he should be as a yorkie! he loves to play and explore. already give little kisses. they are all super sweet like mom and daddy!" so I believe that the one who was being unpleasant was Mr. Taylor. I can list all the red flags I noticed, and we only exchanged a couple of emails: 1. "t is a Fl. state law that requires them to be 8 weeks and this litter will be ready by July 1st." Yorkies should be 12 weeks old. 2. "We had to place a little fingernail polish in different places to tell them apart." Wouldn't collars work better? The pups could ingest the nail polish. 3. Avoidance of sending a video: "We are not set up or have equipment.Wish we did." Nowadays anyone can send a video on any phone or computer--if you had a basic phone and really couldn't, you could have told me! 4. When asked about photos: "No,I think you would be better off with a yorkie that is stuffed, that way you will not be so insure.I cannot trust you with such insecurity with our babbies.Good luck. you will need it!" 5. "As for health issues I just do not know" this demonstrates lack of knowledge. 6. The fact that they told me that I was insecure and better off with a stuffed yorkie only one day after I first emailed them, and only asking about five or so questions, in my opinion, just conveys to me that what they wanted was my money. 7. "Can adjust the price to $650.00" I only emailed them once and they lowered the price $300? Either I got a good deal, or something is fishy. 8. "Dogs are dogs and there is no guarantee for anyone includeing our own health both we do the best we can" Unless they are talking about diseases that can be developed, most issues can be prevented genetically. I could list more but there is just too many to count! Please let me know if the board rules or any other member would like me to provide screenshots or anything! I just want people to notice the red flags I did. Luckily there was no money exchanged! I definitely would NOT recommend this breeder. |
