She was 1.8 lbs when I got her. I took her to my vets and they saw no problems, just said she was going to be small. She might have had underlying issues because she was bred using Twilas male dog and another breeders female. The other lady wasnt caring for the puppies OR the mother, all the other puppies died except for Sassie, so instead of taking payment for using her male dog, Twila opted to take pick of the litter, and took Sassie, whom she hand fed. Yes, she was on the small side (not my choice, my other yorkies were 12lb and 8 lbs) but it was the only female. She also took Sassie from this lady because the lady mentioned she was going to breed her and Twila was adament with me that I not breed her because she was too little, and her vet stated not to get her fixed due to she was too little to go under anesthesia, so yes, she could of had issues from birth being she was the smallest, but Twila made me well aware. The point Im making I guess is someone mentioned her health guarantee was questionable. And I just wanted to let you know she was true to her word and she replaced her when she had another female. Scarlett is healthy and happy. Vet thinks she will be 5 lbs by adulthood. With my own personal dealings with her, I would buy from her again. |

It doesn't concern you that she was studing to a female from a breeder that didn't care for the dogs? Reputable breeders are generally very picky about who they allow their dogs to breed with. If they are going to put their time, money and reputation on the line, they want to make sure that their breeding partners are equally as committed. Sorry, but that is a huge, huge flag to me. I do wish you luck and hope your little one stays healthy. |
I just looked at the website and I have to say, IMO, most of her breeding stock does not even look bred to standard. And I agree with Lorrain, a champion sired litter does not guarantee the pups will be champions. My baby Dash's mom is a CH, dad is a GCH (#1 Yorkie in 2010!!) and he has CH 3 generations (or more) back. And he is a beautiful PET! Not a future champion. There are just no guarantees. And I'm not suggesting everybody should be trying to find a show dog for a pet, but breeders who tout lineage in their marketing - IMO - do so for a reason - $$$. I also find it interesting that the breeder posted on this site that showing isn't for her, but on her website when referring to these new breeders she is excited to fulfill the lifelong dream of showing with the pups these new dogs will have. Makes you say, hmmm. |
I got my Eva the four legged diva :) from Twilla in 2012. She is 5 years old, happy, healthy, and a little bit spoiled. I have sent Twilla pictures of her over the years and she has always responded. I went to her home to pick Eva up and there were several pups there. They were well cared for. I keep looking at her site to see if they are still having pups but they are not updating. I would not hesitate to buy another from her. |
