| No he cannot get your female pregnant as long as your vet removed both of his testicles. Even though your male is neutered he is still capable of tying with a female, as you discovered. For your male and female's safety it would be best to keep them separated when your female is in heat. |

| Since it takes 6 months for hormones to leave the body and the vet emptied him of sperm, their is residucal life sperm left....there is still a possibility he can procreate. If your vet says it is possible, then lets home his sperm wasn't strong enough.

| Well, I guess I am still learning. I would not of thought it would be possible but now that I think about it it does make sense. I have heard of men getting a vasectomy and still getting a woman pregnant so it can happen. |

| That's why doctors has men that have undergone a vasectomy to bring in a sperm sample after 4 weeks and not to engage in sex without using birth control.....They are still potent. Kind of scarey to think they'd undergone the procedure and their wives end up preggo. I have a nephew that is a result of a situation somewhat like this. My brother underwent a vasectomy, his wife ended up preggo two years later. Can you imagine the termoil that went on in the household. Well it just happened that it was the procedure that was performed, there had bben no removal of sections and one side had grown back together. That's all that was needed.

| Shocked isn't the word. They were on the verge of divorce, brother moved out of the house. The whole family was in an uproar. Then sanity took over and we convinced him to go back to the doctor that peformed the procedure and get checked out.....At the time they weren't overjoyed with the prospect of another child, they already had 5 with the yougest being 10.....They do call my nephew Oops.

| Marelin, I can't even imagine the turmoil they went through. Are they laughing about it now?

To the OP, I hope your girl is not pregnant. Is she old enough and big enough to carry a litter? If you have any doubt she would be able to handle having pups it would be fine to go ahead and have her spayed now. Please keep us posted. | |
