My furkids Donating Member | I would discuss your concern with your vet. I JUST had my two girls fixed in Jan. Sadie just turned 4 and Lillie was 2 (yrs old). I was a NERVOUS WRECK! and they are 5 1/2 lbs and 4 1/2 lbs. If it were me....I would wait until she is a little bigger...but that is just me...you are probably going to hear from other members that she will be fine...and she probably will. but, I just didn't feel comfortable having my girls done when they were so tiny...Good luck with your decision and I hope all goes well for her......AND YOU!

| If she were bigger, it would be an easy decision, but with her small size I too would have concerns. What is your main reason(s) for getting her spayed? You should read the following article to help make a decision for the right reason(s). http://www.naiaonline.org/pdfs/LongT...uterInDogs.pdf

| sorry for the super late reply. i had her fixed and everything went great. I was really scared when i took her home because she didn't move much from the surgery. the next day she was a lot better and after a week we took off the cone and she was good. i wanted to have her fixed because i didnt want to have a chance at getting pregnant by accident and it would haev been better for her in the long run. |
