| Millionaire Mutts-Horrible Puppy Boutique My mother taught me better.......I know, I know....... "Always buy from a reputable AKC breeder" she taught me since I can remember. But last summer while on vacation in Las Vegas, my boyfriend and I fell in love..... with a tiny little Yorkie! Weighing less than a pound at 10 weeks old, he was spunky and adorable, we knew he'd be the perfect little brother to our 4 year old Yorkie Cooper. He was for sale at one of those upscale puppy boutiques, which seem to have become quite popular... so they must be reputable right?! WRONG. We spent $3,000 on the puppy and had them keep him for the rest of our vacation. We didn't want his first experience away from familiar surroundings to be a hotel! The stores vet gave him a clean bill of health, even though he wasn't eating on his own! They said this was quite normal for teacups and that you just syringe feed them until they are 16 weeks old and then they're fine! Of course I fell for it, we were already in LOVE with this little baby! Well, we get him home to California. Within days he is horribly sick! Lets make this short.....$7,000 in vet bills and a dead puppy. I call the store again, the manager (daughter of owner) had the audacity to tell me "I know if I didn't sell him to YOU he'd still be alive!" EXCUSE ME ? I had his body sent to U Colorado Vet School and the necropsy said, RENAL FAILURE with Mineralization spreading to his lungs. Yet my fault? I think NOT! The store said they "by law" could only refund the purchase price of the puppy, NO VET BILLS if I got the necropsy to PROVE it was their fualt. So I got the necropsy, but I never pushed for the money. Also, every vet I talked to (while dealing with my sick puppy) told me there is NO REASON for a healthy puppy to be syringe fed. They also said only trained vets/techs should be performing syringe feeding. I didn't push it with lawyers because it would cost me so much in fees and I would rather retain the right to go warning everyone about this horrible place. Normally when you receive your refund (or settlement) you sign paperwork to not push the issue further in any way. NO! The money didn't break my heart......THIS HORRIBLE PET STORE DID. Especially with the way they treated me in that horrible situation! They had me believing I might have killed my baby! Sorry this was SO long....but I had to share my story because I wouldn't want anyone else to feel the heartbreak that we did. Millionaire Mutts Las Vegas, Nevada |

| Lies. This woman is spewing lies and half-truths in order to alleviate her own responsibility for the death of this puppy that left our care HEALTHY. The autopsy proved it. We are heartbroken about his death, but we will not be intimidated by her slanderous attempts to extort money from us. Please use common sense and come see for yourself. |

| Um yeah she did the autopsy... Sorry but her arguments seem more valid. This was not her first Yorkie, so she knew how to take care of him. She did take him to the vet. Btw M. Mutts, is your "vet" really a vet??? I'm very doubtful.

| I guess I can scan his necropsy (its not an autopsy) and put it on here??? He had renal failure and mineralization in his lungs (mimicking pneumonia). I will also post a link to a puppy report with information regarding the puppy's mother. Interesting, the health issues of the other puppy were reported before mine was even born??? And the other puppy from this breeder was sold at a puppy shop in FL. http://www.petshoppuppies.com/report.asp?ID=73A1893 |

YT Addict | It just makes me mad that someone can come here and speak their mind about a breeder and no matter what the breeder always comes back calling them a liar. It wouldn't matter if the breeder sold a sick puppy and knew they were wrong. the customer would always be the liar just to save the breeders name!!

and mmutts - Sure you're heartbroken - only because she's talking about your 'Boutique'... which is just a fancy word for a Pet Store ...Actually you're probably very similar to Petland with just more overhead I would think... It is NOT normal to have to syringe feed a 10 week old so why would you ever tell a customer that ? Ohh wait - for 3 grand.... I guess you'd tell them anything to make that sale right ?

I will second that.. many people will see this and if you make the right heading anyone wanting to check on this seller.. that will come up first.. many people will tell you how to do this.. We call it a post mortem here in Canada...and I am sorry for the buyer to pay that much.. people who sell in pet stores.. buying cheap cheap dogs and making such great money.. have no need to come on here to make themselves look good.. I believe in facts and paperwork... I know what it is like to be scammed.. and my heart sure goes out to you... anne

| Thank you YT I just want to give a very big heartfelt thank you from both myself and my fiance. We are very honest people and simply feel it is our duty to spread the word, we don't want anyone else to feel the heartbreak that we did. Right now I am trying to scan the official necropsy onto here, but I'm having trouble with my scanner. I will quote his Colorado State University necropsy verbatim: DIAGNOSIS: 1. Kidney: Renal dysplasia with metastatic mineralization. 2. Lungs: Metastatic mineralization with atelectasis. Remarks..."the degree of metastatic mineralization present within the lungs is severe enough to reult in clinical dyspnea and respiratory distress and undoubtedly clinically mimicked pneumonia" The poor baby was mimicking pneumonia because the mineralization in his lungs was preventing him from breathing. They claim I killed my puppy by force feeding him incorrectly and giving him aspiration pneumonia, which he did not have. Thank you again to all of my dear YT friends. I think you all know how much I love my Yorkie Babies, and that I am not a crazy lady out to hurt anyone. I just don't want any other puppies or puppy-parents to feel this pain. |

| I give up. I have an email from the customer over a week after she took him home. She was raving about how great he was doing...eating on his own, playing, happy, healthy, she even sent a picture. The puppy was barely one pound. We showed her how to syringe feed him in the event he was stressed when he left us and wouldn't eat. WE NEVER told her to force feed him constantly, only if he wouldn't eat. You all know it is necessary to do if these tiny puppies won't eat, otherwise they could fall victim to hypoglycemia. She called the manager to tell her how wonderful he was doing and said she still will get up in the middle of the night to syringe feed him because she was paranoid and wanted to do it just in case. She is the one who told us originally that her vet said he had aspiration pneumonia. She was the one later screaming at us because she had caused him to die. All we asked for was a necropsy proving this puppy had the problem when we sold him or that it was a congenital issue and we told her we would replace her puppy. We never received the necropsy until two days ago. Our Vet, Dr. Elena Pederson of Advanced Care Animal hospital has reviewed it and we will be responding to the customer next week. WE DO NOT buy from puppy mills. Over half of our current puppies are from local breeders. Go ahead, spew venom about us, but we are not what she is portraying and I feel sorry for her. |
