Senior Yorkie Talker | Southeast Texas Yorkies (SET Yorkies)-Copy of Response to another BreederTalk thread Hey there! Yes, we are currently getting our little girl from Kirista. We met her online in March. Let me just tell you I am very picky, ask alot of questions, research things and analyze them to no end. So the fact that she can deal with that gives her 100000% in my book. We were particularly looking for a baby that we could get in July/August time frame. We actually found her site online before she contacted us in regards to taking a look at her kennel. We began a dialogue and filled out the Adoption Application. She loves her fur babies. Doesn't sale to everyone that wants a puppy. As you are interviewing her...she is doing the same to you. Once you get a puppy from her, be prepared to be a part of her family. If something happens and you can't take care of your baby, her contract gives her the right to purchase the puppy back. She understands that sometimes things happen and people can't take care of the baby....that we found to just show true love and understanding. After we decided on her as a breeder and she decided on us as "puppy parents," we asked if a friend could visit her kennel immediately after speaking to her. She said sure and gave us not just the number on the site but her cell number. Asked that she just call and she will give them directions etc. Now, for us that was a big deal because we are not local at all. Even now, if we want a someone to stop by to see our baby, they are welcome to go. Her web site doesn't have complete pictures of her Dams and Sires and some may get discouraged by this or the assumption is they don't look the way someone would desire. She has plenty of photos to send. Yet, when she analyzes what type of face you desire your puppy to have, general size you are looking to get, color, temperment...she uses those factors to mate to hopefully produce what is desired. She does have to have other people in line for a puppy as well. It's amazing to hear her speak about which combo throws what kind of color, etc. We spoke to her about the area we live in and she is already getting our baby used to traveling etc. Crate training and potty training. Once we put down our deposit, we told her the name of our baby and she started calling her that from the time we picked her. The avatar that I have is our baby and her sister that were just born on April 4th. (our blog has some more details) We initially did not want to get a breeder that would not be within 2 hours of us. We had many contact us. We also were just adimit about not having our baby fly from TX to DC without an escort. We had a family member picking her up. Then when that was no longer a possibility Kirista explained to us that airline she uses is great and they walk the babies, etc. Matter of fact she had just sent a baby out here before we met her in March. She explained that this airline has people assigned to the animals and walk them on lay overs, take them on potty breaks...etc. That eased our minds greatly. Plus her contract is a "living document" so that is terrific!!! We asked her could we make a change and there was no problem. She has just been more than accomodating. I know someone thinks she is paying me...LOL...but no really. You all have NO IDEA all that has gone into this and how particular I can be. Yet, she is such a blessing and we are thankful. I'm very militant in my thinking process for what I consider large purchases and this definately fits. Maybe because I'm the daughter of a military officer and at the end of the day I think about my father digging in my behind about what he would do; what you should ask; what you should expect(gosh that infantry training...lol) Ohh and her husband being a man of uniform himself, helps in feeling even more secure with the cross country buying process.(not military but close enough!) Well, I hope this review does it for you...gosh I typed alot. If you or anyone else wants to know anything else, shoot me a PM. I'll be glad to give you my number, email, or messenger i.d.'s and we can chat. We have enjoyed her bubbly personality, that texas accent and just working with us on everything!!!

| So happy with SET Yorkies I just wanted to second Yorkie2luv's review of Kirista and Southeast Texas Yorkies. My bf and I have been looking into getting a Yorkie for over a year, and in May started talking to Kirista. We were really impressed by her website (so many breeders we looked up on the internet had really hard sites to use and gave very little actual information), and we continue to be impressed by her. We live about 5 hours from her, but this weekend, after talking via email and on the phone several times, we made the drive to see the puppies in person. We were pretty sure we knew what puppy we wanted, but Kirista pointed out two puppies she thought would be a good fit with the type of dog we were looking for. We spent time with all the dogs, and then had a little one-on-one time with the two puppies. She talked with us about her breeding experiences, about her family, and about raising a puppy. I never once felt like she was putting on any kind of show because we were perspective customers. We spent about 3-4 hours at her house, and not once did we feel like we were intruding. In fact, it was great because we got to watch her working with her dogs. There was never any pressure, which is why we walked away with every confidence that the beautiful puppy we chose is the right one for us. Choosing a puppy is a big decision, both financially and emotionally. It was one that took my bf and I a long time to decide we were ready for, and it was important to us that we found a breeder we could trust and rely on. I am so glad that we found Kirista and Southeast Texas Yorkies.

| Thank You I cannot thank all of you enough for your "review" of our kennel. We are immensely indebted to all of our buyers. All of you have given me the incredible gift of being able to live my passion. By your grace, I can work with my dogs and raise my children never having to be bound by a job elsewhere. You have no idea how truly appreciative I am. |
