Baby Bear is going to be a Mama Bear!

They did not do a ultra sound cause my vet does not do them, I would have to take her somewhere else. We estimated her at being 35 days along.

aww congrats missy! even though it wasn't a planned pregnancy puppies are great!!! i have a sneaky suspicion you are going to have a hard time letting them go and your family will grow :)

I'm sorry but I can't help feeling that this wasnt planned. If you knew your dog was in heat then why didn't you explain to your children that they can't be let out at this time due to you don't want an unplanned pregnancy. YOu are endagering your dog unnecessarily. A female comes into heat and usually doesn't breed til the second week so how could this of been an accident? If you know this little about their heat cycle then how are you ever going to handle the pregnancy? Not to mention you say you work 6-7 days a week, how will you have time to care for mom and pups? Not to mention you just get this male and all of a sudden he has bred your female and you say you didn't plan this. I'm sorry but i'm not buying it.
Why didn't you fix the dogs to start with? If you can't afford to properly fix your dogs then how can you ever afford to care for them?
There are way too many dogs sitting in animal shelters for people like you to continue to have accidents when you don't know enough about breeding.
Cause if you did then you would of done this the right way. I feel you were looking for a male to breed to your girls..cause you didn't just happen to accidently come across a dog for sale if you weren't looking.
This is just my opinion. But if you ever visited an animal shelter you would agree that breeding needs to be left to those that are more experienced and have put in their time to researching.

I'm just not buyin it..both have never been bred before..from experience yorkies aren't always the easiest to breed..exspecially first time..it can take hours/days. Not to mention from what i understand your daughters aren't all that young so I'm quite sure they knew you had them crated for a reason..unless you crate them more than you dont..It just seems that they had to know why..and i'm also curious why you would buy a male that is an adult that isn't fixed and shortly after he is bred to your female. This just all seems a little fishy to me.

I"m not being mean i'm just stating an observation based on my opinion. And if you visited animal shelters then you'd know the consequences of unplanned breedings and unwanted dogs. And yes even yorkies end up not wanted. I just think we need more responsible breeders.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure she will find homes for her babies the parents are beautiful. But it just upsets me when i see people come on here and say they had an unplanned pregnancy when there are so many dogs out there that are being put to sleep and people like her are just adding to the problem. From what i've been told she was given the female and paid wht 300 for the male. That she just wanted to have yorkies..so why not fix them. The female hasn't been tested to see if she is breedable. That female has she been tested for liver shunt,lp, hips..ect..any bloodwork done? Has her pelvic been examined? These are things that are a concern. And should of been done if she were planning on breeding or the dogs should of been fixed. The mom and or pups could die. It's risky.

I dont want to get myself in trouble here, but I agree with Mybabypippa. Not the part about her purposely breeding them, but the animal shelter part. There are too many poor dogs in animal shelters to not be extremely careful with a female in heat. Personally I think they should have both been spayed and neutered from the beginning, but thats just my opinion.

Please spay and neuter your dogs after this. I'm sure they will be adorable and defintitely not unwanted, but things like this are what keep the cycle going.

I didn't say HER babies are unwanted..I'm sure her babies are very much wanted..I"m saying there are way too many unwanted dogs in animal shelters. So why add to the overpopulation if you don't have to.

Ok are we talking in general or about Missy? Because I don't see her dogs being unwanted or something that is just adding to the over population.
The way I see it is her dogs ,her house,her life ,her business.

I agree with mybabypippa. It doesnt take much but to read back lots of posts. It is sad reading about these accidental breedings. Especially from yorkie owners that have been a member on YT for so long and I am sure are educated on these very things. I myself get a bit tired of reading about them, all the drama caused by posting that it was an accident, the pity party. If it was planned, why not just post it. JMO

Im not a breeder but a pet owner and if I choose to breed Rocco and Sissy I would say so. Missy speaks her mind also and I think if she planned it she wouldn't hide that fact.
My female isn't spayed and that is my choice for now.

Congratulations Missy on your upcoming litter.:D You certainly have my support and the support of most of us here at YT. We will look forward to your future posts when whelping time comes to offier advice or to cheer you on, and afterwards as we watch the puppies grow. So please, do keep us posted!
I have read posts at how quickly a tie can happen and I do believe that accidents can (and do) happen. And I know of the many animals in the shelters needing homes. Accidental or not, what's done is done, and from what I've read on Missy's threads, it sounds to me like she will be doing everything she needs to help Baby Bear through her pregnancy & whelping (I read she's even got a mentor lined up already), and I have no doubt that she will be responsible in finding the puppys loving forever homes. MyBabyPippa, you've said your peace, how about if we let Missy enjoy this exciting time now. I agree with the others..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything". Or at least, say it as nicely as possible; like maybe "I'm sorry this accident happened, but hope things turn out well for everyone",might have been a nicer way to put your opinion.
