| Since we're about 2 weeks from whelping, I need my memory refreshed...I remember seeing a few threads on whelping pudding. Is there anything else I should begin giving Diva (ex. cottage cheese, etc.) in preparation for her pups. I want to be sure the pups have all the nutrients possible before they are born. Can someone also give the whelping pudding or any other home receipes I could make? Thanks |

I was meaning her Lulva looks huge not her tummy. lol should it still be so swollen? It cant be from her first split heat because that would mean she would be about 95 days pregnant that was early July. Her second part was Sep 2nd when I noticed and they tied for a sec makeing her at day 35 if she was pregnant and due around Nov 5th. Minnies normal weight is 5. 6 lbs shes 8 1/2 tall 9 long Mickeys built smaller hes normaly 5.4 lbs 9 long 8 1/2 tall But I just got the dig scales out and weighed Minnie to see if shes gained any and its reading that she lost. it says shes at 4.15 lbs and it also says Mickeys now at 4.12 lbs. I knew he had lost some weight, but didnt think she had. is it normal for her to lose weight while being pregnant. I know humans do. Hum now im going to have to take her in and have the vet weigh and check her out, maybe my scales batterie is low. | |

Just speculating here, having lost weight at day 35? Maybe, if she's not had the appetite she usually does. By the time I put Lexie on the scale she had gained a pound, but she was NOT eating very well for about a week or so early on in the PG and vomiting some (morning sickness I presume). So she could have lost some weight early on too. But here we are speculating and wondering as Yolanda and I did at first, so I say, take her to the vet and find out for sure to put all our minds at ease! I'll be watching for any news. Good Luck!

| I wouldn't say it's out of the norm to lose weight either in the beginning of pregnancy if she's lost her appetite or has been vomiting.. Hopefully, the vet can confirm foryou soon!! We'd love to have you join us in this journey...I'm a nervous wreck and could use all the support possible... Yolanda |

| Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Okay, our time draws nearer as each day passes. I have the whelping pudding and the mom's recipie printed out...my question is this. The whelping pudding is for who?, how much? and how often? The mom's recipei is obviously for the mom, right after whelping I understand, but how much do I give her, and is it only for right after whelping? I want to be sure she gets all the extra anything she needs to keep her strength up during the birth and while nursing. Thanks for your help!
