Help!!! My week old puppy is sick!!! - Page 6 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I recieved a call from the vet this morning and he said that he was eating really well all last night, but this morning he is having a problem going pee. She has him at home and is taking him to the vets office to see if there is anything that she can do.

Well she just called. They did an xray and a ultra sound with no luck finding anything that is holding him back from peeing. They did go and take urine out with a needle and now they are going to let it fill back up and see if he pees. If he does not we are going to have to put him down this afternoon. He is starting to eat like mad though. Go figure. When he is peeing all he wants to do is sleep and when he is not peeing all he wants to do is eat. **Sigh**

Does anyone have any ideas on getting him to pee?

I'm sorry you've had to go through all of this with the little guy. But why would you put him down if he is eating like mad

? I would think that is the most important part of him surviving. At least now he can gain some weight and get stronger.

I thought that pups at this young age need to still be stimulated by Mom to go pee

PLEASE don't let the vet put him down yet

Did they call you back yet?
I'm so worried for him,,, he's made it this far. Could they put in a catheter until they figure it out? I wonder if that is even possible for one so tiny.

I have not recieved another call yet. He is too tiny to cath and the only option is to use a needle and get the urine out. I have posted another thread in hopes of someone who has been in this situation can give me some tips. I am on pins and needles for this little guy. I don't even want to think of the bill after everything. But he will get whatever help he needs no matter what I have to do. That is my baby!!!

Man, breeding is not all that it is cut out to be. It hurts your heart so much when one of these little guys is sick. How is yours doing?

Mine is holding on, he's trying to eat off mom but no success yet.
I know this is heart breaking and breeding is definately not what it's cracked up to be...just know there are other breeders going through similar things as we are right now. I've lost other puppies due to prematurity and cleft pallete and it has tore me up, but you move on to the living babies and give them all the love you can.
Hang in there and keep a positive outlook today. I'm praying as hard as I can for him and that the right person reads your post.

WE HAVE PEE!!!!!

I just recieved the call from the vet and he pee'd!!!! FINALLY!!!!

oh my goodness I just read this thread, and I sure do hope that Yoda is doing better, and starts to pee on his own...any new news yet??? I am going to be following this thread closely, to see for any updates.....Sending up Prayers((()))

I am happy that your little guy is still trucking along. Man, what we do for these little guys. Such high points and low points. I hope that your little man continues to grow bigger and takes to his momma. I know that he can do it.
