Help with Puppy Poo Hi everyone, I hope you can help me with this very personal question regarding .... Puppy Poo. My 7 week old puppies are in the process of being weaned and they are now having some trouble in the Bowel Movement area of their tiny little lives. It appears to be too hard and some are straining for personal relief. I know that this question has probably been posted before, but to tell you the truth, I think they all need a little relief and do not want to wait while I go searching for an answer. Any suggestions on how I can make them more comfortable?

Did you check their butts to see of they have dried poop on them? I have to literally wash all of mines butts everyday because if I dont, the same thing happens.

I would check them also to see that they don't have dried poo stuck on the hairs around their bottom. I clip mine at about 5-6 weeks when the hair starts growing and every week when their ears get shaved and pads of feet. Just a thought. Sometimes you can't tell unless you do an inspection. | |

Thank you all. I have cleaned their little butts .... on a daily basis too, but I have noticed them straining and doing that little poop dance with little result. I have decided to give them some canned food and also perhaps soak their hard kibble in Esbilac for a few days. I sure hope this gives them a little relief.

I hope so too. I have noticed little racing streaks all over my carpet so mine like to scoot across the floor and clean theirs. That is how I know it is time to wash their bums.
