| Possible Puppy Problem.... Hey guys, I was just moving my puppies ( 25 days old ) from the playpen back to their whelping box. In the process I always put them on the paper first to urinate and let them find their way to their blanket. When I went back to remove the paper and replace it with clean...just a minute or two later... I noticed a reddish tinge in one of the puppies urine. Since I didn't see which one did it I have no idea who it was. My question is this ... Has anyone had this happen to one of their puppies and if so, what did you do? I am frantic and very worried. They all seem fine and happy and no fussing by any of them and Momma doesn't seem to be worried either. I hope you can help. Thanks, Janie |

| I would keep an eye on their urine and if you see this again, I'd find a way to keep each seperate so I could take the one with the problem to the Vet. I do hope it isn't anything serious enough that it doesn't clear up on it's own. |

| Paper...as in newspaper? Could it just have been puppy urine mixed with red ink from the newspaper? Just a thought as I am not sure you are talking about newspaper... Debbie |

| Thank you both. I have been watching them closely and have checked the possibility of it perhaps being the newspaper, but there wasn't any red ink on that particular piece. I have watched each puppy urinate separately ( quite a few times ) and have not seen any other sign of blood. I am pretty sure that they are tired of me hovering over them every time they need to pee.... LOL I'm hoping that it was an isolated incident. |

| Do you think it could have been a little blood from the momma, and then they peed on it?

| I'm very perplexed and I have no idea what it could be, but I am so happy that I have not seen more. |

BANNED! | I suggest getting them to pee on a white sheet or a cloth peepee pad so you can tell if its the pups or just the ink mixed with their urine. Good luck hun sure hope its not the puppies having a problem. |

| Since it might be a slight UTI I would suggest Benebac (should be at petsmart and or petco) if you cant find that, try small amount of vanilla yogart for a couple days.

| Thank you, and I have tried the pee pee pad and have not seen any other bloody spots, but I will definitely try the vanilla yogurt just in case there might be a UTI. |

| I would suggest you get a cotton ball and put warm water on it and rub it on them to make them unrinate and you will be able to see which one it is. |
