Good luck, Lilly and Mom! If you need any help at all, post an SOS here in the breeder section and someone should be here to help out. Prayers going up for a smooth delivery for Lilly:hands:  |
Thanks so much, you guys are so absolutely awesome!!! Well it looks like you were right Lisa... or she was having a premature labour maybe? We finally headed to the bedroom at 6am and she went straight to frantic nesting. Heavier breathing, very restless, non-stop cleaning her self. Then at about 7 am or so she seemed to relax, curled up and went to sleep. Today she's sleeping a lot again, but she ate some food and her temp is back up to 99.5... so I guess it's just a wait & see game. Yeash am I ever going to be exhausted when this finally happens if she keeps this up :( |
Keep a close eye on her. In most cases the pups are born within 48 hrs. of the temperature drop. Good luck, we're here if you need us. |
Hey Tina - how are you and Lilly doing? |
Just want to wish you and lilly the best:) praying for a safe delivery. |
Thanks littlewhip :) cj125, so far so good. She's sleeping tons & not eating... but I'm confused on the temp thing. Her temp went back up to 99.5 by this afternoon, and 100.7 as of about an hour ago. Is it normal for it to drop to 98.7 and then raise back up so high again like this? Should I expect it to keep fluctuating like this or should it be staying down? |
Sometimes it fluctuates sometimes it stays down. Remi's simply didn't rise 1 degree in the evening like usual and she had the pups very late that night. They're all different. I wasn't even sure she was in labor until a couple of hours before the first pup was born. She was just so nonchalant about the whole thing. |
For me, they rise and fall even at 98.7. They don't go into labor for me until lower 98 degrees (98.2 or so). They're all different so you have to be on your toes. |
Thank you for the quick reply Tami:) I ended up calling my vet and made an apt for Lilly to see them tomorrow at 3pm, just in case. I explained that either I would be bringing Mom and puppies in if she has them, or maybe just Mom for a quick look to make sure everything is going accordingly. They said that was fine, and if she's in the process of birthing to just give a quick call and we'll set up a later time. I also ended up asking them to go though the dates again with me just to be sure, because of course we aren't positive of the day she concieved. The vet said 27th-31st when we went in for the x-ray, but I didn't have the exact date of refusal then, it was at home on the calender. If we go by the vets way 57 days past her first day of refusal (in her case snapping at the male) then she is for sure due tomorrow. It works out to be the same day if we go 63 days past her first/second day of acting like she was acceping him. So tomorrow(28th) is most definately supposed to be the big due day... unless she goes over. ;) |
Thank you as well Susan :) Well last time I took her temp was 5:30pm - 100.7 I just took it again at 8pm and we are now at 99.6. While taking it I noticed her vulva is starting to swell up & she is looking a bit bulged out in the area. She's still only picked at her food a couple of times today & is not doing much else but following me everywhere & sleeping everytime I sit down. She's even following me into the big scary bathroom now! Normally she just sits outside the door with her nose peeping under. I guess were in for another long night:( |
Wishing you a safe, quick delivery of the lil ones and hope that they are all healthy...how many is she expected to have? |
We saw only two little ones on the x-ray & both looked to be some what equal in size. That was on friday morning.:) |
Praying for your baby!!! |
