| BANNED! | Once you decide to make a male a STUD be prepared for these behaviors to get worse. I think if your not looking to get into breeding then its best to neuter him and keep his as a wonderful pet. |

| Humping is a "dominating" act....not always a mating thing. All of my little guys (females & males) have done it and still do when they get to playing really hard. And, yes an unaltered male will probably lift his leg. I keep a bellyband with a pad on mine when he is running about the house, and leave it off when he is restrained to the kitchen/laundry area and at night. He's a happy little guy. Much Luck and don't worry too much! |

| Some how I must of got lucky because I hear all these terrible storys of a male not being neutered that humps, marks and that after they have been breed theres no changing back. My Yorkie male is three years old never been neutered been with a female once or twice a year. He does not hump any thing and never has other then a female in heat. he is potty trained and is a loving pet. The same as with my Male boxer and Male pittbull never had any of these problems with any of my males. |

| I have a male stud dog he doesn't hump anything but he does mark so he has to wear a belly band in the house because I don't pen them up unless I'm away. When I have a female in season the males are put up and so are the females in different rooms. My other intact male doesn't hump either and doesn't mark but is fixing to be neutered. My male that is neutered doesn't hump either but my female that I'm fixing to spay does hump. It's a behavior that can be controlled. I am in favor of neutering and spaying if you don't intend to improve the breed and show. JMO Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

What some people fail to notice is that females mark too. The only difference is they don't hit the furniture and are harder to catch in the act. I have females that hump too, especially when they're in Season, I've even witnessed 2 girls simulating the tieing act.

My Krissy is the worse at humping her mother and that's not even when she's in season so I have to change her behavior LOL. Radar has to have a belly band because he'll get on my bed and pee UGH! But can't help the marking so hence the belly band. Harvey is going to be neutered but he doesn't mark much only when I don't have the back door open! | |

| Being the owner of two male dogs who are un-neutered, they become sexually mature around six months. My Prince started humping everything! When Paris or Gypsy was in heat we'd separate them, meaning locking him in the dining room when we couldn't watch him constantly. If you don't wish to breed, get him neutered. If you do wish to breed, find an acceptable female dog. That means that both dogs have a clean bill of health. You dog should weigh less then the female. |
