Humping is a "dominating" act....not always a mating thing. All of my little guys (females & males) have done it and still do when they get to playing really hard. And, yes an unaltered male will probably lift his leg. I keep a bellyband with a pad on mine when he is running about the house, and leave it off when he is restrained to the kitchen/laundry area and at night. He's a happy little guy.
